New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer was visited by Chabad Bochurim today in honor of Purim.
The bochurim read the Megillah for Stringer, one of the only Jewish officials elected to citywide office in New York.
They also presented him with a Shalach Manos gift on behalf of Chanina Sperlin of the CHJCC and the entire Crown Heights Jewish community.
Stringer spoke of his close connection to Crown Heights and a memorable encounter he had with the Rebbe.
“We told Comptroller Stringer that he plays a similar role to Esther, since he represents all of the Jewish people,” the bochurim said.
