If you don’t have the best pnimiyus, and you getting drunk, will be a big shame for people around you, you cannot get drunk.
You’re only fulfilling the mitzvah of getting drunk if you’re happy for the right reasons, which is The Miracle of Purim, if you want to drink to “free yourself” from your problems, just don’t get drunk, you’ll be mixing simchas Purim with it.
If someone asks this question they either A. Never learned even Kitzur shulchan aruch or B. Did learn it but are looking for someone to tell them otherwise so they have a “heter” to get drunk.
Please Make sure to be sober the whole entire year, so when it will come purrim you will know automatically what to do and what not to do. Because everything in Life is relative. Have a happy purrim.
