A Lakewood resident says he’s lucky he was awake, or his baby could have been dead.
The resident said he was awake about 1:00 AM, when he heard crying coming from his newborn’s room.
“I heard the baby crying, and then almost like it turned off, it was a weird sound,” the father said.
The father then went and put his ear by the door where his 4-week-old daughter was sleeping, and heard silence before hearing loud shrieking; as if she was under the covers.
“I barged into the room, and I see her standing over the baby with a pillow on her face,” the father said. “I literally shoved her off and said “what are you doing?”
The nurse tried to explain herself that it’s not what it looks like, he said. He told her to leave the home immediately and offered to drive to her to a bus station.
“My baby was shaking,” the father said. “She couldn’t come to herself.”
The father tells TLS he vetted this nurse, who was coming with experience.
In a strange twist, the father says he now wonders why the baby monitor had not been working properly and believes she may have tampered with it.
“You would never think this would happen to you.”
This morning, the father called the agency who stated they will be investigating the incident.
Which agency was she from? B” H the father woke up in time. He needs to file a police report, asap!!!!

The agency has a lot to lose on the legal side by taking responsibly so don’t expect them to! Law enforcement needs go be involved asap. It would-be selfish of this couple not to do so because their own child is safe!!

Many parents buy a year-round unlimited membership for their babysitter to take their baby or special child to the JCM. Problem is that the babysitters leave the kids strapped in their strollers several hours non-stop while the kids are awake (just like leaving you an adult handcuffed) while the babysitter is on their smartphone. Have someone check the baby monitor to see if it shows signs of tampering. Take the baby for a full & complete medical exam for bruising or anything. Even if she’s not prosecuted they’ll be a police complaint on record, so if anyone else is looking for a nanny
and checks out her background, they will hopefully find at least the complaint on record and be forewarned not to risk taking her!
This evil creature needs to be put out of business one way or another! She is a murderer! You can not “stand idly by” while someone else’s baby’s blood is being spilled. Put her picture, name, agancy’s name all over the internet. This needs to go viral!

Mom could be having a hard time recuperating and do they temp hired a night nurse to help so parents could get some rest finally so they could function in the day. This is not uncommon.

Yes the stories are similar but not exact. In the child’s s case I believe the medical errors were accidental, but with this man and his uncle it was found to be intentional.

From the details of the story, it seems like an eastern European culprit or someone from the Turcs & Caicos. Either way, a bus would likely be their preferred method of escape. What was this guy thinking?

Offering a ride to this person was not chessed it’s just wied & extremely ridiculous & doesn’t make sense. Sounds very much like the famous miracle story of the Schochet girl that had suffered severe burns…in the early 50’s.
It was very logical what he did. His main concern would have been to distance his baby from the nurse so he drove her to the bus. Presumably he breathed a sigh of relief once he dropped her off. Only then could he think wheather what he did was correct or should he have just called the police/Hatzola etc. So don’t blame him for his initial reaction.
It already happened! Why is everyone freaking out? If you REALLY care, you can call 911!
What does it matter her nationality?
If she was a white or black woman, what happened was wrong. Nationality or race should never be taken into account for a wrong doing.

I think most commentators here are aware of what should be done but , in case it isn’t clear: when a hired nanny appears to be suffocating your child: 1) stop the suffocation. Use force if necessary. 2) if possible, detain the culprit. If you can’t let them go, yell at them that you are calling the police, anything to get them away from your family. 3) Do actually call the police and report this incident. In the moment he may have been in shock. Could’ve would’ve should’ve but didn’t.
But it was probably the middle of the night, and if his wife was possibly not well, he was very likely exhausted and just not able to think clearly I would imagine.
Very irresponsible if a nanny just tried to suffocate your baby & you don’t call the police on her & make sure she goes to prison. How do you trust the agency how do you know they won’t let her work for another family. She needs to be put in prison & never let out.
