An amazing mitzvah

Rebbe, it’s as though you have saved the whole world. I am moved to tears by your kindness.

I can hear the hoofbeats of the Moshiach...
January 3, 2019 9:06 am

I just “spoke” to him via email yesterday, completely unaware of what had happened. I said, “You remind me of the movie, MONTY PYTHON IN SEARCH OF THE HOLY GRAIL. A knight has just been defeated by his foe. His legs and arms have been lopped off. All that remains are his head and his helmet. And he yells: “Come back here ya coward.” He even inspired one of our congregants, Danny, to donate his kidney, to another congregant, Uri, when he desperately needed a kidney…I am honored and privileged to have him as my Rabbi, even though I now… Read more »

Our Shliach
January 3, 2019 6:47 am

Rabbi Simon is our local Shliach I have been blessed to not only know him but be his Gabbai for about 13 years. If Rabbi Simon would have his way nothing would be written about him. The last Shobbos he was here before the surgery we gave him an Aliyah that he never wants. The whole shul rose Rabbi Simon didn’t want any of that kind of Kavod and seemed upset over it. — This is a person who is totally dedicated in this order Klal Yisroel , His family and His Chabad family.

with utmost admiration

As a transplant recipient myself, I am so moved by Rabbi Simon and his family’s extreme generosity and mesiros nefesh. That his wife and children supported this is so extraordinary. You are the biggest inspiration ever- make it wear off on all of us! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This is so amazing

I love men like this Rabbi who live truth and don’t just claim being willing to die for it.

Need a kidney? Or liver?
January 2, 2019 12:36 pm

I have someone cleared to donate a kidney at Cedar Sinai & UCLA, but unfortunately, her recipient is now not able to have a transplant. If you anyone needs a kidney and with either hospital or willing to switch, please let me know. I also have a couple of people who also want to donate part of their liver. If you or someone you know who needs a liver donor, they can contact me as well. Hopefully more lives will be saved in the future and maybe as a result of Chabad.org & Collive posting it! Thank you so much!… Read more »

I am the Kidney & Liver Matchmaker in the story
January 2, 2019 9:54 am

Hi, everyone! I am the one who made Rabbi Simon’s kidney & now liver match! He is one of the most extraordinary of human beings I have known in my lifetime! Blown away! Anyhow – he ended up donating about 33% of his liver – his left liver lobe. Boruch Hashem the transplant was a huge success – and his liver recipient Adam Levitz was told that his liver function is as good as a 20 year old! Thank you Hashem! And thank you Menachem Posner of Chabad.org for writing such an awesome story!!!! Chaya Lipschutz Kidney Donor and Kidney… Read more »

Aside from them not taking the whole liver, the liver is the only organ that regenerates itself. Research shows that Rabbi Simon’s liver will grow back. It usually takes a few months for it to grow back to its full size.

So...Sorry have no adequate words

This Rabbi is to me a person who has no comparable person to compare to. We know there have Rabbis who were martyrs and died to keep their faith. And Adam, through all of this and I know most of history and the times of dispare, showed us that you must have hope. That is one of several reasons that I have a special love for him and admire him. To Adam I wish Yasher Koach If we as people could do good things not remotely close to Rabbi Simon, we would live in a better world. It’s more difficult… Read more »
