Rabbi Berel Halon, a longtime resident of Crown Heights passed away on Tuesday night, the third night of Chanukah, 5779.
He was 83.
Rabbi Halon was a devoted Chosid of the Rebbe, who worked as a nuclear physicist, working for a major technology company in New Jersey.
He was known as a kind, and brilliant yet humble man, who taught Judaism to those around him.
He is survived by his children Rabbi Eliezer Halonand Aliza Halon, both of Crown Heights, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother Rabbi Chaim Meir Halon.
The levaya take place on Wednesday, leaving Shomrei Hadas at 1:00 pm and passing by 770 at 2:00 pm.
Shivah will be taking place at 1455 Carroll St.
Shacharis 7:00
Mincha 4:00
Maariv 5:15
Aliza Halon will be sitting Shiva from 5 – 10 pm
Monday night shivah, Mincha, and Maariv and Tuesday Shacharis at 735 Montgomery St.

Rabbi Halon and his wife, Shirley, were kind and welcoming chassidim. The Shabbos meals that I spent with the family decades ago are warm memories.
