Tuesday, November 6, is General Election day, and Crown Heights residents are urged to vote, as these elections are crucial to our community, the Crown Heights PAC has announced.
Zaki Tamir, Chanina Sperlin and Devorah Halberstam of The Crown Heights PAC are supporting the following candidates:
Chele Farley – Republican – for United States Senate
Chele is running against Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who has shown herself to be less than a reliable friend of Israel, voting against punishing the Palestinian Authority for payments to terrorists and withdrawing her support from legislation that would protect Israel from Boycotts. Gillibrand has campaigned alongside such anti-Israel personalities as Linda Sarsour. A vote for Farley will send a message to Gillibrand not to take our community for granted.
Farley visited the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens last week, and has received the endorsement of NY former Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

On every issue that faces the Torah communities the republicans are more in line with our views. On vouchers,crime fighting,keeping terrorists out of our country and moral values we must vote republican.
It is good that one of the comments raise the issue of the Rebbe’s approach to this matter of voting. While the comments expressed are probably accurate they referring to rabbonim and Lubavitch officially endorsing candidates. They do not reflect on whether Community leaders who are involved in working with officials should endorse those who will help our residents. Also support for Israel, school vouchers, or other policy issues are areas where askanim can give important guidance as to the candidates best aligned with the interests of the Jewish community.
Let’s vote for a new PAC committee too! It’s about time really. Are they looking out for the general communities’ welfare or perhaps only their own? Voted, but not sure if PAC list interests were for the overall general community or private concerns.

I feel very under represented, looking at these pictures and in general, reading COL and seeing who makes the noise and the news presses in our community. How did these men get involved? How long will these same guys be the movers and shakers? It’s shocking that they didn’t endorse Jesse Hamilton who did so much for our community. His support of our community and for Israel was what his opponent in the primary used to defeat him narrowly. But he is still running as an Independent and he surely deserves our support & Hakiras Hatov.
