Dear readers,
Yesterday Tzivos Hashem welcomed its newest five star general. Being only 5 months old, soldier Aryeh Leib Perl is not your regular Tzivos Hashem general.
My nephew Ari achieved this rank of five star general by rallying and uniting Jews across the globe to do mitzvahs specifically baking Challah, Neiros Shabbos among many others.
Ari was born just a few months ago with a rare heart condition. He underwent a successful surgery a week ago Tuesday and was well on the way to a full recovery when on Shabbos his situation suddenly deteriorated leaving him in critical condition.
As he remains in ICU we, as family and friends, are not sitting still. Earlier this week we began a campaign for women to bake Challah in his zechus. We only began spreading the word late Tuesday and by Thursday over 1,000 women from around the globe had baked Challah in his honor. A Mega Challah bake in France, a group of students on campus near Staten Island, and hundreds of others joined in this amazing display of Achdus.
As the dangers of modern technology are rightly often highlighted, its helpful to sometimes take a step back and see the amazing power of kedusha that these same tools can provide linking Jews from around the globe for one unique cause – to storm the heavens beseeching Hashem to bring about a complete Refuah Sheleima for Ari.
Yesterday morning someone shared with me the story that Rabbi Benjaminson recounted in a recent edition of the Derher (Adar 5777). Rabbi Benjaminson, as head of Tzivos Hashem, once received a call around midnight from Rabbi Groner. Rabbi Groner relayed that a child had been recently injured and was in a very serious condition and the Rebbe asked that he be promoted in Tzivos Hashem to help bring about a speedy recovery. The child was quickly promoted and Boruch Hashem he did recover.
After hearing this story I straight away reached out to Tzivos Hashem to help raise Private Aryeh Leib’s rank. And the promotion wasn’t with no effort. It was the 1000s of Jews Aryeh Leib inspired that helped earn him the rank of Five Star General with the amazing help of Shimmy Weinbaum and Mushka Green.

The amazing achdus is truly remarkable. As a family member to receive messages from people as far as Australia, Canada, Israel, Belgium, France and Germany circling back to USA touches and warms the heart and invigorates us knowing that our efforts are bearing fruit.

When we were in the hospital waiting for hrs for our child to come out of surgery, we received pictures and videos of children learning and davening for a refua shelaima.
It’s easy to feel alone when your alone in a big glass building,the videos reminded us that we were not! It gave us strength!
No doubt, the parents see the numbers rise and feel the warm embrace of klal yisroel.
