The Italian city of Rome is welcoming a new Shluchim couple that will be dedicating their life to serve the local Jewish community and expand Chabad’s educational activities.
Milan-born Rabbi Meir Shaikevitz, his wife Mussie (nee Brikman of Crown Heights and their daughter moved this week to the city and will be living in Piazza Bologna square in the Nomentano district.
The couple will be presenting adult education classes in the area during the evenings and teach in the ORT Renzo Levi High School in Rome.
Chabad in Rome, established 40 years ago by Rabbi Yitzchok and Sarah Hazan, has expanded in recent years with a Chabad House, daily Talmud Tora Hebrew school and more. The Shaikevitz couple will also be assisting activities at Chabad of Rome.
They join the other Shluchim in Rome: Rabbi Menachem and Rivkie Lazar of Chabad Piazza Bologna, Rabbi Shalom and Chana Hazan of Chabad Lubavitch di Monteverde, and Rabbi Ronnie Canarutto of Chabad Viale Libia.
