1. Kol Nidre
Cantor Netanel Hershtik starred in the The New York Cantors concert held in the historic Portuguese Synagogue in Amsterdam this past year. Accompanied by a men’s choir, he sang the moving tune the opens davening on Yom Kippur in Jewish communities around the world.
2. Ki Hinei Kachomer
One of the most beloved Chabad tunes of the High Holidays is Ki Hinei Kachomer, a nigun of three stanzas with a musical charm all its own.
Originally sung without words. the chossid Reb Aharon Charitonov of Nikolayev, Ukraine, one of the famous composers of Chabad melodies, would sing this tune to the words of this poem recited in the Yom Kippur evening prayers.
This new cover of the nigun is sung by Mendi Brod and Avremi Feldman and recorded at the Musical Chabad House studio.
3. Ki Anu Amecha
Lubavitcher singer Shneor Sadon of France sings the Chabad nigun “Ki Anu Amecha.” The melody to the words “For we are Your nation and You are our G-d” is from the High Holiday liturgy. It was first taught by the Rebbe on Simchas Torah, 5717 (1956).
4. Kaddish of R’ Levi Yitzchok of Berdishev
Crown Heights musician Avigdor Zeitlin sings the haunting melody of the Chassidic Rebbe R’ Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev. The nigun in included in the Sefer Hanigunim of Chabad and would be sung before Musaf on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.
