The blasting sound of the shofar was taken to breathtakingly new heights on top of Volcano Acatenango at 13,000 feet in Antigua, Guatemala.
Bochurim Yekusiel Kaplan, Yossi Hine and Eli Shemtov traveled to the top of the mountain, waking at 3 am and embarking on a steep 6-hour hike during sunrise. Yekusiel Kaplan then blew the shofar.
“It was all worth it for these views and the grand blow of the shofar,” said Yekusiel Kaplan.
The trip was organized with the help of the Shluchim of Antigua, Guatemala, Rabbi Chaim and Daria Silber.
“The trip was only possible thanks to the incredible Shluchim, who helped os to organize and arrange the wonderful trip! Their amazingly warm, beautiful and hospitable Chabad House in Antigua is an absolute must to visit,” Kaplan said.
