Rabbi Aharon Yaakov Schwei, senior rov and member of the Crown Heights Beis Din (Badatz CHK), has been discharged from Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York where he experienced and was treated for cardiac arrest.
The Crown Heights community, as well as Lubavitchers around the world, have been saying Tehillim and dedicating Mitzvos for his full and speedy recovery.
“We thank everyone for their Tefilos and he is Baruch Hashem getting stronger every day,” a family member of Rabbi Schwei told COLlive.com on Motzoei Shabbos. “With our continued tefilos, he will have a complete recovery Be’ezras Hashem.”
Rabbi Schwei was elected to his position as a rov for the largest Chabad community in 2003, having served for many years as a Maggid Shiur in the Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim in Crown Heights.
Currently, Rabbi Schwei is recovering at a rehabilitation center in New York. His relative said that his ribs were fractured while receiving CPR, which is making his mobility painful.
“Be’ezras Hashem, he is expected to heal over the next few weeks,” the relative said. “He is looking forward to returning home and to his community work. Rabbi Schwei Sheyichya thanks the community for their continued Tefilos and for the outpouring of care and concern.”
