A Smicha Graduation for 11 bochurim from Tzemach Tzedek, Nefesh, Sephardi Synagogue and FREE was held in Sydney.

Over 150 people, men, women and children attended this year's Smicha Graduation at Tzemach Tzedek shul in Sydney Australia on 7th July - 25th Tammuz.

The evening was emceed by Rabbi Michoel Chriqui, the Rabbi of Sephardi Shule as well as the father of one of the bochurim. Rabbi Avrohom Perlow, Rabbi of Tzemach Tzedek who was involved in teaching the bochurim said a short Dvar Torah.

Rabbi Mendel Gurkov spoke on behalf of the bochurim and presented a video of the highlights of the program, which included the amazing learning programs, special Yomim Tovim events and more.

Rabbi Mendel Polichenco, a father of one of the bochurim, flew in specially for the event from San Diego. He addressed the newly appointed Rabbis and encouraged them to take the next step and become Shluchim around the world.

Rabbi Yehuda Spielman concluded the evening with thanks to everyone who assisted financially as well as their time, energy etc throughout the program. He emphasized the importance of the program in Sydney and reached out to everyone to get involved and make next years program an even bigger success.

A thank you goes to Miriam Spielman who coordinated the entire program and took on the responsibility of the Menahel Gashmi for the bochurim throughout the year. Without her input, time and dedication the program would not have been the success that it was.

A video of thank yous from people throughout the community concluded the evening, followed by refreshments and a farbrengen.

Next year's program will include bochurim from Dover Heights, Nefesh, FREE, Sephardi Shule, Central Synagogue and Tzemach Tzedek. There is still room for 4 more bochurim. If you know of anyone that is capable and willing to join a good group of bochurim please reach out and get in touch with us.

To 7 and 8
Its a new program. It doesn't have a reputation in order to have a bad one. The Rabbis teaching and officiating are some of the best of the best. Much better than many other 'recognised' Smicha. Have we become university, that we care about recognition? The smicha is legitimate.

@7 @10 @11 Quality Smicha
The Rabbis giving the Smicha are the best! Ty Rabbi Gutnick for the 1 on 1 (3 hour!) tests, Ty Rabbi Ulman for the tuesday shiurim on Yuchsin & Kiddushin-Nisuin, Ty Rabbi Perlow for shiur on Shechita.
Ty to our world class Shoel Umeishiv Shua Blassenstien who was even available late after hours via WA to answer and discuss! Ty Berel Light for the managment and upkeep of the program as well as involvement in the subject matter itself.
I challenge every other Chabad Smicha to produce a staff as dedicated.
