Bochurim in the Smicha Program at Central Lubavitch Yeshiva’s “Chovevei Torah” Campus in Crown Heights posed for a group photo, as they successfully completed their studies of Issur V’heter (Kashrus).
They were joined in celebration by a group of talmidim who recently completed the Hosafos (supplementary required learning in addition to Issur V’heter), and were presented with their Teudos Semicha by the head of the program, Rabbi Yosef Barber.
The talmidim were tested by prominent Rabbonim, who offered some important and practical advice to help them advance properly in their learning.
Renowned Posek, Rabbi Avrohom Hirsh Wosner stressed the importance of constant review.
“You toiled hard in your learning plowing and planting and now you have a beautiful tree to show for it, but it must be watered regularly so it does not wither away. When you move on to the next miktzoa (topic), make sure to set up a chavrusa and review that which you have already mastered.”
The Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Zushe Winner suggested maintaining a personal Shaylos U’teshuvos notebook.
“Whenever you encounter a shayla, even if it is fairly straightforward, research it to the best of your ability and summarize the issues. This way you will gain much more when you talk it over afterwards with an experienced Rov.”
Many students took the opportunity to thank Rabbi Barber for his dedication and crystal clear shiurim, as well as the yeshiva for providing a great in town option to learn for smicha in a yeshiva environment with a structured curriculum.

Registration is now open for Shnas Halimudim 5779. Scholarships available. For inquiries, please contact Rabbi Barber at 917-975-4111.
Is the best halacha teacher out there!!
First time I enjoyed halacha classes was in Bais Rivkah seminary. He is the most patient, and clear teacher. He explains the meaning behind the halacha and reasoning for the final psak in a straightforward way without losing the plot. Always takes time for everyone’s questions. I gained so much from his classes!
One of the most patient, humble, brilliant, and metchlich people out there. Keep up the great work.
