Yeshiva Bus Overturns on Turnpike

A school bus from a Boro Park Yeshiva overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike, 6 children have minor injuries.

A school bus with dozens of children on board has overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike near the Goethals Bridge.

Officials say 40 people were on board the bus; six had minor injuries.

The bus was carrying students from Yeshiva Mevakshei Hashem in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn; there were about a half-dozen other buses lined up behind the overturned one.

The accident happened around 4:00 p.m. right before the toll plaza at Interchange 13 in Elizabeth.

All of the occupants were able to get off the bus, police said. Injuries appeared to be minor.

No word on from what school the bus originated.

The northbound New Jersey Turnpike exit ramp from the outer roadway to the Goethals Bridge was closed while crews worked to clear the bus.
