COLlive.com presents Shabbos Night Live, a weekly web class with Torah thought, chassidic stories and timely inspiration.
Presented by Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Executive Director of the Central Lubavitch Youth Organization (Tzach Hamerkazis) and a long-time columnist and radio broadcaster.
When we like another person due too his virtues, its not Bechiro — its logic, Explained in Chassidus that if you like a person for his essence, not his virtues, that is Bechiro.
This is also the depth of Ahavas Yisroel to love every Jew, even the one who, for this moment, is less than perfect, for his essence that he is a Jew.
I don’t quite get what you mean by loving a person because of his essence, not his external attributes. Don’t we all have the same essence? It’s the persons’ virtues that we are attracted or repelled by them, that is natural and nothing to be dissatisfied with, in my humble opinion!
