Yisroel Plotnick, a longtime Crown Heights resident, passed away on Thursday, 24 Teves, 5778.
He was 99.
Yisroel was an American soldier who fought the Nazis in WWII.
He was an extremely devoted husband, son and father who was beloved to all who met him.
He was known for his friendly demeanor, always greeting everyone he met with a smile until his last days.
His wife Miriam Plotnick passed away 13 years ago.
He is survived by his children, Chaya Lieblich – Crown Heights and Sara Weinstein – Crown Heights, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The levaya will take place today, leaving Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park at 12:00 pm and passing by 770 at 12:45 pm.
The family will be sitting shiva at 821 Montgomery St.

He was a special man, He always had a smile and cute sense of humor. He brought happiness and life to those around him. Humble, kind and a real mentch. He will truly be missed.
