On the first of Kislev this year, Chassidim around the world will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Rosh Chodesh Kislev 5738—the day that marked a major milestone in the Rebbe’s recovery after a heart attack some five weeks earlier on Shmini Atzeres.
In honor of this special Yovel-anniversary, a special Seudas Hoda’ah and Farbrengen in honor of the 40th Rosh Chodesh Kislev will take place at the Ohel, in addition to the traditional Farbrengen in 770 following the Banquet of the Kinus Hashluchim Haolami.
The Farbrengen will be led by Rabbi Meir Harlig, longtime organizer of the annual Rosh Chodesh Kislev celebrations, since the first year – 5739. There will be addresses by Rabbi Yossi Groner, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt, of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Following the formal Seuda, Chassidishe Farbrengens will take place in Yiddish, English, and Hebrew, with Rabbi Shlomo Zarchi, of Brooklyn, NY; Rabbi Yisroel Deren, of Stamford, Connecticut; and Rabbi Yosef Gopin, of Hartford, Connecticut. The above mentioned speakers will Farbreng as well.
May we merit to celebrate Rosh Chodesh Kislev this year seeing the Rebbe with our physical eyes and hearing from him Torah Chadasha.
VIDEO: Rabbi Meir Harlig on Celebrating Rosh Chodesh Kislev
As #10 said, although R”CH Kislev coincides with the night after the banquet, this is Reb Meir Harlig’s annual RC Kislev farbrengen.
None of these “speakers” ever came to the “grassroots” farbreingen following the Kinus.
Absolutely false advertising.
It is just the the yearly Rosh Chodesh Kislev farbreingen that has always been organized by Rabbi Harlig that is moving to the Ohel.
This is devastating! What about Reb Yisroel Shemtov and Berel Lazars farbregen are they moving to the Ohel as well??
BH the RCH Kislev fab during my time as bachur in 770 was of the most happiest moments while there. There was an achdus and open simcha shared openly . It was beautiful . this happened before the first Shluchim convention every year at the seudus hoda , and afterwards even more so with the Shluchim adding to the Rebbe’s joy and excitement of the event making the convention at this time . perhaps the six hours for the Rebbe singing his arm on the balcony during a later convention is the Rebbe telling us to straighten out selves out… Read more »
My aunt learned in seminary in France. After her first year she went into yechidus, the Rebbe asked her if she was going back and when she said yes the Rebbe said he was happy that she realized that one year or seminary was not enough. The Rebbe then spoke about the division between the Ashkenazi and sefardi girls. At that time there were the Ashkenazi girls that came from London and Montreal and NY and the few gajeh girls in France, and then there was the French Moroccon and Algerian Sfardi girls and the two groups did not mix.It… Read more »
Just imagine you were trying to arrange a Farbrengen with speakers etc. Yes, you’re right. Due to some extremists, that wouldn’t be possible in 770. All these meshichist hooligans would disrupt and destroy any sense of Seder that might have been arranged. If the Mearginim weren’t up against this, surely they would do it in 770. If you want to point fingers, point them at the wild maniacs who have taken over 770!
How?!?!?!? is it “uniting” when it became a Frat Club?! Since when is “shlichus” a fraternity club, only allowing “club members”, and EXCLUDING everyone else?
If the Rebbe said that EVERY YID is a shaliach to spread the word of hashem, how does anyone have the nerve to say otherwise?!
Please do your homework and find out why the chassidim who will be farbrenging at the Ohel will be there. And then come back and share your findings with us.
Exactly my thoughts when I heard about this. As a Shliach who comes to town once or maybe twice, I will stay in 770 for this fabreingen
*A Sad Day…* Today is a sad day for Lubavitch, a very sad one. In less then two weeks, thousands of Shluchim will gather in Crown Heights for the Kinus Hashluchim. The Kinus has many highlights, but one stands out. After partaking in the grand banquet Sunday night, the Shluchim make their way over to 770, where they Farbreng through the wee hours of the morning. Some years, the excitement is doubled. When the Kinus Hashluchim coincides with Rosh Chodesh Kislev, Reb Meir Harlig prepares his annual Farbrengen. The Farbrengen is unique, as it’s the one time a year when… Read more »
