In honor of Rebbetzin Chana’s Yom Hillula, Beis Chana, Tzfas, held two events.
First, Beis Chana held its annual Vov Tishrei Kinus that unifies the local Or Menachem elementary girls’ school (over 500 students) together with the Beis Chana Middle and High School, and Seminary (over 800 students) – a record 1300+ students.
The Kinus commenced with Mishnayos recited for Rebbetzin Chana, the Rebbe’s mother, the recital of the twelve Psukim, and songs and dances prepared by students in the Rebbetzin’s honor including inspirational words to live by her example.
The Mara d’Asra, Rabbi Mordechai Bistritzky, Rabbi Shlomo Raskin (CEO of Beis Chana), as well as Rabbi Y.Y. Chitrik (menahel of the Seminary), shared Divrei Torah. Mr. Ilan Shochet, mayor of Tzfas, gave his words of blessing with a dose of humor.
Mrs. Ety Ochayon, an active member of the Tzfas community, shared her personal gratitude to the student body, whose tefillos at last year’s Kinus helped save her from a life threatening situation. Tehillim was also recited for the refuah shlaima of Menucha Chana bas Chaya Rochel, a Beis Chana graduate currently on shlichus.
Following the Kinus, Beis Chana’s administrative staff invited the mayor and other government employees to be honored at the ‘ribbon-cutting’ for the newly built Beis Chana classrooms.
With the hugely expanded number of new students this year – sixty students in the Naale Bnos HaShluchim program alone – new classrooms became a pressing necessity.
Funding for these new classrooms was approved by Mr. Faraj Faraj, the director of development for the Northern branch of the Department of Education. In attendance from the Tzfas municipality were also the deputy mayor, Mr. Ronny Ben-Abu, as well as Mr. Motty Cohen and Zeev Saban from the Tzfas Department of Education.
There are two new large classrooms adjacent to the lovely pergola on campus, as well as four mini-classrooms intended for private lessons and tutoring sessions, and a music room. These classrooms were all attractively designed by a team of architects and interior designers.
Amazed by the school’s dramatic growth and success, Mr. Faraj has pledged to arrange funding for another six classrooms for Beis Chana.
So happy and proud to be part of this truly amazing school and dorm!
Rabbi Raskin and Rabbi Chadad are doing amazing things for my daughter’s school. Yashar Koach!
