Rabbi Michoel Chaim Klifa Nimni, a Rav and Mekubal who led a Kollel and Beis Medrash in Crown Heights, passed away on Shabbos, 21 Tammuz, 5777.
He was 65.
Harav Nimni was a close student, and learned 12 years as a Chavrusa, with the world renowned Mekubal, Rabbi Yitzchok Kaduri zatzal.
He was a regular Ben Bayis by the illustrious Baba Sali, Rabbi Yisrael Abuchatzeira, who cherished him very much and would only allow Rav Nimni to massage him with various oils.
His teacher and mentor was the Rishon Letzion Rav Mordechai Eliyahu zatzal who gave him the name “Malach Michoel,” and who encouraged him to open a Bet Midrash and Kollel which he opened in Crown Heights with the Bracha of the Rebbe.
Many yungerleit who learned in his Kolel are now Shluchim of the Rebbe.
The Rosh Yeshiva of Kisei Rachamim and spiritual leader of Yachad, Rav Meir Mazuz Shlita would stay at the home of Rav Nimni on all his visits to New York.
His home was open to all for advice, assistance, a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. Hundreds of local families sought his advice and benefited from his activities. In addition, many people from all over New York and America would seek his guidance and assistance.
He left 17 children, 10 of whom are still unmarried.
He is survived by his wife, Rabbanit Tziviah, and children Rachamim, Rabbi Yaakov, Moshe, Yosef Chaim, Meir Shalom, Shimon Refael, Baruch Yisrael, Avraham, Dovid Shem Tov, Yehuda, Shlomit Orah, Sara Simcha, Geulah Rina, Leah Rivka, Esther Chana, Mazal Tov and Penina.
