Mrs. Rochel Devorah Goldberg, a Chabad Shlucha in the State of Minnesota who added flair to family simches and Chabad events, passed away on Shabbos, 7 Tammuz 5777.
She turned 32 this past month.
Her family, friends, and members of the Chabad community in Minneapolis wished her happy birthday with prayers for a miraculous recovery from a rare and aggressive sickness.
“Happy Birthday, Chaya Rochel Devorah!!! With your sweet smile and contagious laughter, you spread sunshine wherever you go,” wrote Heidi Shertok, a resident of S. Louis Park, MN. A Minneapolis family wrote to her: “Rochel, the Altman family loves you and are keeping you in our prayers and thoughts!”
Goldberg (nee Snyder) grew up in Philadelphia where she went to the frum Politz Hebrew Academy. Upon graduating she studied in Beis Rikvah High School in Crown Heights.
After marrying her husband Rabbi Yonah Goldberg, the couple moved in 2007 to S. Paul where he served as an adult education teacher under the Upper Midwest Merkos – Lubavitch House.
Mrs. Goldberg was active with Nshei U’Bnos Chabad activities for local women and girls. She would also organize holiday programs and bring children to senior living facilities.
Talented and creative, she would help decorate family simches and Chabad events in Minnesota, adding flair and joy to the occasions. She also studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition which is based in Encinitas, CA.
She is survived by her husband Rabbi Yonah Goldberg and their children Chana, Menachem Mendel, Yaakov, Simcha Bunim and Avrohom Moshe.
She is also survived by her parents R’ Shmaya Avrohom Snyder, Mrs. Leah Snyder of Philadelphia, and siblings.
The levaya will be held in New York on Monday at 10:00 AM from Shomrei Hadas Chapels and passing by 770 Eastern Parkway at 10:45 AM. Burial at Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens.

Instead to ask “Why?” we need to MAKE T’SHUVA, stop to say Loshon Horey, increase our Odom l’Chaveiro and understand that we don’t understand.
H-Shem Have His reasons and is part of our “Cry for Moshiach” in fix our ways to see the world…
The family probably needs a lot of help and hope our Real T’shuve could elevate her Neshomo always to be into the most higher level of k’dushe and to be close to H-Shem.

Agree with # 21
To #24: please note the 2 definitions I was given for Yisrael were1) prince of G-d
2) one who at times fights/contends with G-d
With all due respect to ur position it is erroneous and one superb example was during the shoah/holocaust when a Beis Din( jewish religious tribunal ) in Nazi occupied Europe was convened to put G-d on trial for war crimes against the jewish nation. The Beis Din found G-d guilty and then proceeded to pray the afternoon prayer – Mincha, to their Creator.
Yes it is ok because when H’ sees how people cry for another human being HE can take the questions etc.We humans cannot. The Aibeshter understands where people are coming from when they see a beautiful young mother and she didn’t get a miracle. So yes people become angry but HE always understands.Let people vent. They need to be heard from the One Above and bring Moshiach.
My condolences to the Goldberg and Snyder families.
Rochel was a kind and generous soul and I was always touched by her hospitality and her reaching out to help others. The last time I talked to her she was talking about how to help support other pregnant women. Am saddened by this loss to the Goldberg and Snyder families and to the community.

What this day and age needs are more of the Levi Yitzchok of Berdichev attitude. He was never complacent or lax when it came to defending his People. It is this fierce love of our People that brings unity and binds us together as one mishpacha. Wasn’t Mrs. Goldberg, A”H, mishpacha?
Baruch Dayan HaEmes. Any shiva information? NY or MN?
With caution I tune into collive bec I never know what’s next!! Bet a lot of people feel like that!
We’re wearing down!!!!! Gd have mercy!
How are our children supposed to wrap their heads around this if we can’t???!!!!
Condolences to the Goldberg families!!! & Rochels family & MN family.
H-shem wants us to demand. The Rebbe also said so in his sichos. And Moshe argued with H-shem much more strongly than that and it is recorded in the Torah which means Lesson (lekach). Eveything recorded is so that we will know how to act. There is a time to argue with H-shem in just such a way.
As mentioned, she just turned 32 & In Hebrew=LEV & she definitely had a LEV TAHOR!!!!
So sad!!!! Moshiach Now!!!
The golus is getting so much darker day by day, that even those who want to do good and what’s right can get easily confused and distracted. The only sure answer is to do whatever will bring Moshiach straight away now.! Anything else is just a waste of time and energy and is bound to bring us ultimate disappointment sooner or later Hashem Rachmonis!!

Eibershter, what is the purpose of us lingering in this sad, awfully dark Golus? What’s the point in taking away such a young mother of 4 to your private upstairs abode? Hashem: Even YOUR place is down here below! דירה בתחתונים. Together with Hashem Himself is meant to be ALL the גופים that ever lived down in this earth RETURNING to the living in this Beautiful new Garden we planted for HIM!
