Jewish Toddler Attacked by Dog

An orthodox Jewish child suffered facial injuries Thursday after being viciously attacked by a pit bull.

Yeshiva World News

Authorities say a 2-year-old child suffered facial injuries following a dog attack in Spring Valley on Thursday afternoon.

Sources tell YWN that the 3-year-old child was playing outside his home located at 68 N. Cole Ave with his family members at around 6:00PM, when suddenly he was viciously attacked by a Pitt Bull.

Rockland Hatzolah transported the child to the hospital with facial injuries.

The incident which can be seen in the attached video is nothing less than horror. Nothing provoked the dog to attack the child.

Neighbors tell YWN that this is not the first time this dog attacked innocent people. As can be seen in the video, a prior incident was also captured on security cameras.

Local residents are furious at authorities as they claim police were contacted about this dog in the past.

To make matters worse, police took a report at the scene and “punished” the dog by telling the owner that the dog can’t be outside for 10 days. Local residents contacted elected officials and the media. Later this evening, police arrived back at the scene and took the dog away.

Rockland Chaveirim were on the scene as well.

poor baby!!!
Put bulls should not be allowed as house pets! Just insane! Put the dog down!

On a side note I'm surprised there wasn't no adult out there watching the kids play so close to traffic.....

dog owner
its illegal to let a dog out like that. you must walk a dog with a leash. the owner should be held accountable.

my brother was attacked by a neighbor's dog when he was 7. He needed a few stitches on his arm. The neighbor had the dog killed and paid the medical bills. We didn't have to ask and that was the end of it. The dog was large but generally friendly and most certainly not a pit-bull.

the owner should be sued into oblivion.
(4/21/2017 7:08:57 AM)
This animal made an attempt to kill as the wounds are near the
neck & throat. This is the way of a wild & dangerous beast. There should be a lawsuit for injuries & trauma to this small child. This beast should not have a second chance, G-d forbid! If this was a guard dog he should have been securely confined to the property he guards only. Something is wrong here. He's clearly a menace if attacked someone on their own private property.

Pit bulls
Pit bulls are deadly animals. If a pit bull harms someone, the owner should be punished.
(4/21/2017 7:12:46 AM)
Arrest the owner
Why has there been no charges against the owner for letting his "pet" loose? Lock him up
(4/21/2017 7:13:11 AM)
If the 'beast' was known to have attacked before,
as it says in the article, then the owner obviously knew the potential danger this animal posed to the public. There is a wound on the child's neck as well as cheek. Potentially very deadly circumstance, letting this beast roam freely.
(4/21/2017 7:29:53 AM)
Scary situation,
The family should seek legal counsel if necessary.
(4/21/2017 7:39:51 AM)
Don't stop
Please don't give up until that beast is dead. These dogs are truly deadly, they were bred/created to kill. It is ridiculous that despite the blatant statistics American legislature hasn't outlawed this menace to human life. Hundreds died in the past decade from pit bulls. Anyone who owns this animal is probably transgressing on Venishmartem meod es nafshoseichem.

This wasn't just tooth punctures on the cheek,
it was on the neck & throat! The threat should be clearly understood. Spring Valley is not a big city, but it shouldn't be as deadly & dangerous as a jungle either for it's residents.

In CH all the time dogs frighten!
In Crown Heights, every day, hundreds of kids and frightened, cry and even run towards traffic, because of dogs! What can be done?

Kill the sick dog!!!

The tooth laceration on the neck,
looks like it was very close if not actually on the jugular vein. A little deeper and it might have been torn, Has V'sholem!

This is horrible!!!! Traumatizing!!!
May this child have a complete refua, physically and emotionally!!
Justice must be seeked!!!

According to 'The 7 Noahide Laws' I do not know if the dog can be killed.
Re: the police letting the dog go after 10 days, if the dog
harms another child, or perhaps/even adult, the policeman/men might be eligible for a severe punishment. This is a certainty.
This is a civilized society? This is evil, to let a very dangerous animal out.
So America, now you see why ISIS, is attacking you, and there are natural disasters.

The dog should be put away. The owner is the one who should be charged.
(4/21/2017 10:31:09 AM)
From the video alone,
it looks like if the owner, or whoever the man was, didn't finally get his animal off the child the outcome could have been the ultimate worst for the child!

This is a horrible incident, but they are Hashem's creations and so therefore have a purpose. We can throw them trief meat as a reward for their not barking as we left Egypt. But they owners are responsible for the harm they can potentially cause, and correct, sick ,or out of control animals need to be destroyed period!!

''god forbid to kill the dog its a living being'' (PETA)
(4/21/2017 11:58:49 AM)
# 21, are you for real?
This is a dangerous animal that almost finished off an innocent child, where are your priorities. Human life takes precedence over animals. Don't you know that? Are you so out of touch with G-d's law and truth? What's with you??
(4/21/2017 12:17:47 PM)

Yea it's a living being but humans are far way to more important than these áäîä''s if we're not gonna kill all dogs kill at least all pit bulls
(4/21/2017 12:31:52 PM)
See this normally!
Of course the dog shall be killed for his evil ways!!!!!! That was a matter of hashem a child's life or death!!!!!
(4/21/2017 12:34:17 PM)
Sue the owner until he can no longer afford to own a pit bul.
(4/21/2017 12:51:35 PM)

Re #6
Pit bulls are not deadly animals they rank fifth in temperament under German sheperds labs border collies and serprisingly poodles if trained properly then can be the most loyal and calm pet

That being said it is illegal to let your dog roam free and yes owner should be responsible to the fullest but saying pit bulls are deadly animals is plain bs all has to do with owner
(4/21/2017 3:43:15 PM)
G-d help us.
Something is fishy in Spring Valley. Why are the police being so lenient with the dog owner. They keep stating the boy's religion, which is really annoying but I wonder then who are the dog owners. Saw some Latina women on the news defending the dog..??
(4/21/2017 7:28:25 PM)
Jail The owner
(4/22/2017 4:04:26 PM)
Vicious dogs
Those pit ball dogs are plain evil. Why would anyone want to keep such an animal, other than to cause fear and harm?

You are mistaken. I can't add links, but google it. APBT is a dog breed that was made especially to be an especially dangerous breed. In dogfights, this breed doesn't respond to pain. They will continue to fight to the death missing limbs and with their guts trialing behind them in the dust. They go to this level of die or kill response very quickly, therefore making them the unmistakably most dangerous breed.
64% of death from dog mauling is from Pitbulls alone. Even Rottweilers are a measly 10% in comparison.
Do some research.

In uk the dog would be put down immediately and the owner sentenced to jail time

Kill the dog
My mom got bitten by a chow and it didn't get fixed or anything. It didn't get killed!!!! Also she got stitches they didn't even pay for the medical bills.
Something should be done about this dog

You can't own a pitbull. Any dog that attacks a human needs to be put down. One time is enough!!

oy refuah shelaima
my heart is breaking for this poor kid
(4/23/2017 9:09:42 AM)
Read Carefully!!!!
This is the last sentance: Later this evening, police arrived back at the scene and took the dog away." so the police are taking care of it!
(4/23/2017 10:58:44 AM)
People always freak out
The kid will be fine...just a couple of stitches. Had a greater chance of getting hit by car for being so close to the street. The dog needs to be always leashed though.
(4/23/2017 11:37:34 AM)
Dangerous dogs!
Pitbulls are vicious dogs and should be banned from populated area's at least!!! I get so nervous everytime I see one in the street!
(4/23/2017 7:23:48 PM)
Its not the dog its the owner!!!
DOGS ARE NOT BORN VICIOUS! its the owner who has made the dog that way! you are very cruel to say put the dog down. The owner needs to take responsibility and the dog be sent to SPCA or a trainer. Shame on all of you.

A Public Menace
A few months ago, a 9-yr.-old girl was killed by her friends pit bull. That pit bulls are still legal is shocking.
(4/24/2017 10:09:28 AM)
Public Menace 2
Nothing a couple of pet cougers being walked down the street couldn't solve. Teach those pit bull owners a lesson they won't soon forget.
(4/24/2017 10:15:22 AM)
Strict Liability
Per the law of 'strict liability' or 'no fault liability' when someone is injured by something inherently dangerous (and the example of a dangerous dog such as Pitt bull is used), then the owner is liable regardless. Even if the baby had rushed over to it and attacked it, the owner would be liable. There is no need to prove that the baby didn't 'provoke' the attack. The police are also at fault for giving the owner carte blanche by implicitly telling him that it could release the dog to the public after 10 days. But we all know that many of the police can no longer be trusted to protect the innocent. We need to learn to defend ourselves and show zero tolerance for those who try to endanger us- even when they have the support of the police.
(4/24/2017 10:47:33 AM)
to those defending the dog
do a search...these dogs have killed children. BH this child is alive. may he have a complete refua shleema.
(4/24/2017 4:14:30 PM)
I agree 48
Bh this child is alive refua shelaimah
(4/24/2017 7:52:50 PM)
On my block a dog owner was letting his dog run free
right near my two year old! Owners should be fined if their pets are unleashed in public.
