Rabbi Zev Litenatsky, an educator who touched many lives in the Jewish community of Los Angeles, passed away at 78.
He was one of the tmimim of Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch in Montreal, Canada, and one of the first to receive smicha ordination from its luminary rabbonim.
During his time there, he has grown close to some of the 9 Shluchim, especially the mekubal and mashpia Rabbi Volf Greenglass and the Yeshiva’s director Rabbi Leib Kramer. He was a close chaver of R’ Elye Gross, all OBM.
An accomplished educator, he served as the principal of different schools from 1960-2007.
A pillar of the Los Angeles community, his family described him as “a strong chossid who never lost his hiskashrus to the Rebbe.”
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Dvorah Litenatsky, and children Aaron Ben Tzion Litenatsky – Los Angeles; Shmuel Avrohom Litenatsky – Los Angeles; Sarah Schneeweiss – Toronto, Canada; Menachem Litenatsky – Los Angeles; Rafi Litenatsky – Los Angeles; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
