A festive mood was in the air, as the newly- built, state of the art Mikvah Mei Chaya Mushka was opened in Crown Heights at a grand opening dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday.
Crowds of supporters, community members and members of Bais Shmuel Chabad congregation in Crown Heights were in attendance in a tent in front of the building on the corner of Lefferts and Troy Avenues, to celebrate the great milestone and the dedicated support of the individuals who brought the dream to fruition.
Master of Ceremonies, R’ Mendel Duchman of Los Angeles, paid tribute to the Mikvah’s founder, Rabbi Moshe Pinson, as a “one-of-a-kind Chosid that makes things happen, who truly personifies Ha’Maseh Hu Haikar.”

Honored at the event were “the anchors of the Mikvah,” Feivish and Tamar Pevzner of the Five Towns, who dedicated much of the building to their parents’ memories.
Rabbi Moshe Pinson thanked many individuals for their support and dedication in seeing the project to completion.
“To be here is very humbling,” said Pinson. “I thank the Rebbe for inspiring us to build the grandest Mikvah possible.”
Pinson thanked a number of supporters, including Yingy Bistritsky, Mendy Farro, Avremel Lokshin, Zalman Shuchat, Zalman Skoblo, Dovid Smetana, Dovi Sperlin and R’ Avrohom Hecht OBM.
Thanked for the interior design was Maggie Rogatsky of HCDDesign Decor, Moishe Kops of Decor Island for the fixtures, Blackstone Contracters and DJ Design Associates.
Also thanked were Pinson’s uncle and aunt, R’ Mendel and Channy Drizin, “one of the first donors who stepped up to the plate and helped finish the Mikvah.”
A special thank you was given to activist Devorah Halberstam, who “makes the impossible happen,” Pinson said. “I called Devorah and said, ‘I need permits to make a 6,000 square foot building on a 600 square foot property.’ She said, ‘done.'”
Pinson also thanked Mordy Bistritzky, Haysha Deitsch, Shmuli Kopfstein, Levi Wilhelm and Shluchim Rabbis Yosef Chaim Kantor of Thailand, Berel Lazar of Moscow, Russia and Yosef Schildkraut of Brazil.
Pinson concluded with an emotional thank you to his wife and family, especially his mother Mrs. Rochel Pinson OBM. “I dedicated a lot of my time, effort and energy to this Mikvah in her merit,” Pinson said. “I know she is looking down from heaven saying, ‘Moishe, I’m proud of you.'”
After a special dedication to the Pevzner family, the ribbon was cut and the crowd poured inside to view the spectacular building.
The Mikvah will be open for use in approximately 2 weeks, Pinson said.
Each beautiful mitzvah and/or organization/institution is deserving of funding in its own right, none are mutually exclusive. Rejoice in the success of each.
The mikvah should help many families to bring more of the Rebbe’s children into this world that will go serve as soldiers in Hashem’s Army!
R. Pinson, this project should be one of many “big” projects that you will be involved in and see through to completion!
The Kreindlers
please post a phone number of the mikva to make a apntm.
To#4 yes 4 million for a mikva is exorbitant ut if that’s what they decided to expend let’s make it worth the money. Actually as the The Rebbe quoted mikva takes Priority over even pidyon shvuuim!. True too many sefer Torans r being written, luxury trips for almonos, competitions, all lovely Torah campaigns but even this Mikva isn’t enough for crown heights. 60 people a nite a d 12baths in the original mikva. This one is only 6 or8 rooms. It’s a drop in the bucket.!
what an achievement! Proud to be friends with Moshe Pinson! One of the few people who actually do something for the greater good of the community with no personal gain. If there were more like him, CH would be a better place.

No words Dovid and Malkie. Thank you very much.
if this means that more women can be persuaded to use the mikveh and shluchim can bring them from far and wide then its worth every penny of the 4 million.
