Thank you for your response. CH Bubby, I would like the contact info for the person running the crown heights support group, so I can share it with clients. You could post it here, or call me at the agency, 1 (718) 596-8789 ext. 302. The agency will be closed tomorrow, and reopen on Sunday. I am so happy some services have started. I assume that if it is under neshei, then it is for women. Let us not forget the men who are caregivers. They need support too. We need male volunteers. An hour a week can mean so much… Read more »

צדקה isn’t beautiful and touching, its simply doing what we are supposed to, like caring for our young.

The elderly population is far greater than what’s visible since they never go out.

Many of them live confined on the second floor of houses without elevators. Some are fortunate to have children stop by to check in on them, shut a window, put out a mouse trap etc, but many others are neglected. We EMT’s are possibly the only ones to notice this neglected population.

Thank you NDR for you most beautiful such heart warming especially after all the bad (H-Y”SH May G-d protect us) in the news, yes we need to look out for the elderly, not only in shul, but at home in these times of extreme weather conditions, May be something simple at a bottle of milk, or a loaf of Bread we can never ever understand or know the achievements we gain from it, despite the original intentions of doing such for the sake of another Yid, May Hashem lead us in the right moment to the right circumstances enabling us… Read more »

Crown Heights Elders get practically every service they need from agencies outside of the community. At least this agency is reaching out to the CH community.

There is a huge need for help.

Navigating the world of Medicaid, Medicare, long term care, family care, finding frum aides etc is a big job. Families need help. Most are simply trying to network to figure out their next steps.

How about it “community” council, can you pull something together to help this population?
