After Pesach and Lag BaOmer, and before Shavuos and the summer, Chabad Shluchos from around Europe gathered for a relaxing and rejuvenating conference.
Organized by the Chana organization, the conference brought together over 100 women who lead Jewish communities, Chabad centers and educational institutions for discussions and lectures.
The conference, which took place in Budapest, Hungary, was produced by Fleishmann Productions. The Chana organization operates under the auspices of the European Jewish Association, headed by Rabbi Menachem Margolin.
The second day of the conference began with an exercise program and Chassidus class given by Shlucha Penina Glitzenstein of Chernovitz, Ukraine. It was followed by davening and breakfast, emceed by another Ukrainian Shlucha Nechama Dina Ehrentreu of Zaporozhye.
After breakfast, the main session of lectures began, emceed by Shlucha Raizy Zaklos of Zagreb. The first lecture was given by Rabbi Simcha Cohen on the subject, “Who is afraid of criticism?”
It was followed by a panel of shluchos, emceed by Rivka Zaklos of Bryansk, Russia. On the panel were Shluchos Chana Diskin of Munich, Rivka Chazan of Milan and Tzipporah Garelik of Moscow, as well as a presentation by Sara Osdoba of England.
After the lectures, participants toured the Chabad institutions in Budapest, and were hosted for lunch at the Israeli Chabad Center run by Rabbi and Mrs. Shmuel Raskin. During the meal they heard from Rabbi Baruch Oberlander, Head Shliach of Hungary and Av Beis Din of the Chareidi Communities.
They concluded the day with a delicious dinner on board a ship that sailed on the River Danube, the European Union’s longest and the continent’s second longest (after the Volga).
The shluchos also made a series of good resolutions, which were read out by Shlucha Tybie Camissar of Amsterdam, and they enjoyed a comedy show by comedienne Michal.
