While in Japan this week, the Prime Minister of Israel Bibi Netanyahu met with a delegation from Chabad of Japan at the historic Imperial Hotel in downtown Tokyo.
The delegation included Shluchim Mendy and Chana Sudakevitch, who brought along a new Torah scroll so that the Prime Minister could inscribe the first letters.
The Prime Minister inscribed the letter “Beis,” for his name, and then a “Shin” for his wife, Sarah.
After the writing, Rabbi Sudakevitch related to the Prime Minister about the flourishing Jewish community in Tokyo.
The Prime Minister then related about his meetings with the Japanese Government in Tokyo.
Also in attendance were longtime Tokyo community members David Leibowitz and Yitzhak Medan; Rabbi Shmuel Vishedsky, Shliach in Kobe, Japan and his wife, Batya; and Ari Harow, Netanyahu’s chief of staff.
