Chitrik Shloshim in 5 Locations

The Shloshim – 30 days since the passing of Rabbi Hirsch Chitrik OBM, a Crown Heights businessman, activist and donor, will be held this Motzoei Shabbos with a Melave Malka meal.

5 events will be held on that night in 5 cities around the world.

The first will be in Tel Aviv for women only in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Esther Piekarski, Principal of the Pnimiyut girls seminary. The featured speaker will be his nephew Rabbi Mendel Lieberman, Head Shliach of Ashkelon.

Another event that night will be held in the dining room of the Beit Chana Seminary in Tzfas, directed by his son Rabbi Yosef Chitrik. The guest speaker will be his nephew Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Ashkenazi, Rov of Kfar Chabad.

The central gathering will be held in Crown Heights, in the Getzel’s Shul on Kingston Avenue, beginning at 8:00 with the participation of his wife Rivka Chitrik (nee Karasik), family members, friends and residents.

Among the speakers will be Rabbi YY Jacobson, world renowned orator and Rov of Congregation Beis Shmuel Chabad, and another of Rabbi Chitrik’s nephew’s – Rabbi Nachman Twersky.

At Beit Chabad of Punta de Este, Uruguay, run by his daughter Rochi and her husband Rabbi Eliezer Shemtov, there will be a kiddush on Shabbos marking the Shloshim. 300 people are expected.

In addition, a “Tzvi Hirsh Lending Library” will be inaugurated in Rabbi Chitrik’s memory in this vacation city in Uruguay.

In Caracas, Venezuela, where one of Rabbi Chitrik’s grandsons is on Shlichus in the local yeshiva, there will be a Lunch ‘N Learn for Jewish businessmen which will be dedicated to the Shloshim.

A jeweler, Rabbi Chitrik was a known talmid chacham and supporter of Crown Heights educational institutions. He was also the first Shliach the Rebbe has sent.
