Elected Rov: Rabbi Yossi Braun
Rabbi Braun this week; celebrations for his win, Sunday * photos by Zelig Shaul

40 year-old Blackberry savvy Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun of Sydney is the newly elected third rov of Crown Heights, winning over Rabbi Moshe Bogomilsky by close to 100 votes.

Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun of Sydney has received the most votes --994 to be exact-- in Sunday's election to appoint a third member to the Crown Heights Bais Din (Badatz).

But he won't be learning about the results so fast.

The 40 year-old who has said he'll be using his Blackberry device and the web to connect to the Brooklyn neighborhood's residents, is on a flight back to Australia.

When he lands (in the morning hours of New York) he will be notified that he was elected to a "Rabbonus for life" position, alongside the current senior members Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba and Rabbi Yaacov Schwei.

He won over his main ideological competitor in the race - Rabbi Moshe Bogomilsky, member of Vaad Rabbonei Lubavitch, who has received 896 votes.

Another candidate, Rabbi Emanuel Chaviv, a Rosh Kollel in the Israeli city of Beitar, received only 63 votes.

Rabbi Yossi Braun was born and raised in a family of rabbonim. His grandfather, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Braun OBM, a renowned rov and posek, authored Shearim Metzuyanim b'Halacha on Kitzur Shulchan Aruch.

His brothers, Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Braun serves as a rov and dayan in Monsey, and Rabbi Avraham Yaakov Braun serves as a mashpia in Mount Kisco, NY.

His supporters have evoked the memory of the late Crown Heights Rabbi Yehuda Kalman Marlow OBM - who had worked together with Braun - as a campaigning tool against Bogomilsky. Large photos of Marlow were hung outside the election station.

Braun has a packed resume, being a 'chozer' reviewer of the Rebbe's sichos, running a Mesivta, teaching in a girls seminary and leading the break-away Tzemach Tzedek community in Sydney.

Although being nominated by Rabbi Schwei (associated with the Messianic group in Chabad), Braun insisted during an election forum that he was an independent.

"If anyone knows who is running my campaign please don't tell me because I will be indebted to them," he said with a smile. His opponents say he knows 'good and well' who they are.

Only after Braun's win, was told about the existence of a campaign headquarters on Kingston Avenue (past Basil Pizza and Wine Bar).

Seen celebrating there were activists associated with Rabbi Schwei: Mendy Hendel, Rabbi Yekutiel Rapp, Chanina Sperlin, Elie Poltorak, Sruli Sandhaus, Yanky Herzog and Yaakov Spritzer.

They were joined by Vaad Hakohol members Zaki Tamir and Fishel Brownstein.

The elections were a result of a Din Torah between the Crown Heights communal leadership to end ongoing disputes that crippled the representative institutions. Monsey Dayan Rabbi Avrohom Rosenberg oversaw the process and the elections.

Rabbi Braun has run on the slate of a young educator who can connect to the many young couples and singles in the community. Some observed he was more of a Mashpia than a Rov, but his supporters said that was his advantage.

One of his first tasks will be forging a working relationship with Rabbis Osdoba and Schwei, almost twice his senior; appoint a CEO to the CHK Kosher supervision; and direct the Gabboim of 770 on how to continue their legal battle over the ownership of the main shul.

And that's just the the first of a long to-do list the new Rov faces as he begins the lifetime position.

There is a G-d in this world and He is GOOD!
CH didn't deserve to have Rabbi Bogomilsky. He is way too good for them. Those that have felt honored to have him as their Rav, will continue to do so. May Hashem grant him the strength and years to keep on being there for them.

I agree with with you. The Rebbe loved every single jew no matter his title or his backround. How much more so we have to work on our Ahavas Isroel and thus bring the geulah shlema.
We all want it. a ksiva vechasima tova to all
(9/5/2010 11:46:11 PM)
No suprise.
CH gets what it deserves....more of the same. Sydney gets a little respite....and Rabbi Bogomilsky will live out his days bshalvah.

The Lesson is
That a campaign of pure shmutz works. Mendy Hendel and his cronies learnt from the Obama people. There is nothing that can be better then a dirty libelous campaign. This works in the goyshe world and works in CH too.
G-d help us and i hope Rabbi Braun has the strength to stand up and say no to mendy hendel.

Thank you Hashem!
May we all start the year with new hope and energy for Crown Heights.

And may we celebrate Rosh Hashono already in Yerushalayim together with our Rebbe and the full & complete Geulah!

One difference: America will be rid of Obama in 2 years. Rabbi Braun will be Rav for the rest of his life...only in CH can you elect someone FOR LIFE without the faintest clue as to who he is. I on the other hand know him personally. And voted for Rabbi Bogomilsky.

Please, Let us give this new Rov a chance to prove himself. He did NOTHING wrong to you, me or anyone in your family.

I voted Rabbi Bogomilsky Shlit"o, but we need to accept these results and give Rabbi Braun a chance to create his own record.

Let us hope and pray that is will be a positive one (for the most part).

The year was 2008 The candidate had youth, hype, charisma, knowledge of media, and a promise of a new beginning. When it all faded, we saw the end by the 2012 elections.
The year is 2010 and history repeated itself. However, this time we are in it for life.......
So, Mazal Tov to Australia and good luck to C.H

First of all, it was not the "(40 yungeleit) who put him in", rather it was more than half of the votes(almost 1000)!

Secondly, I find it highly laughable to predict that those 40 yungeleit will go on shlichus the next year or so(though I wish them heartfelt success). Anyone familiar with shlichus seeking will confirm that nowadays shlichus is almost impossible statistically to obtain due to the supply/demand model(20-30 positions for hundreds of yungeleit)

B'Virkas Kvisoh Vachasimoh Tovah!

Todays Election was a real REFRENDUM - Rabbi O. vs Rabbi S.
Many people had mentioned in the comments here, why should we vote in a 3d rov before the 2 make sholom first.

Similarly others asked that since the 2 can't make sholom, then why not make a vote to see whom the community wants now, Rabbi O or Rabbi S and so we should have the 2 conflicting Rabbonim on the Ballot and let the community decide whom they want.

I have news for you:

Todays Vote actually was a Referendum for the community to decide if they want to Choose Rabbi Schwei over Rabbi Osdoba. It was like a "community Din Torah" for the public to choose the Rav whom they feel is right.

The majority of the community chose the Candidate of Rabbi Schwei.

It's even more than that because even the Rabbi Osdoba team did not get their minority of 46% only with the help of those whom wanted someone who was against the Beis Din altogether period.

Considering that the 46% Bogomilsky got was form people who could care less about any Beis Din period, it means that as far as people who always respected the Badataz,, Rabbi Schwei got TODAY a 99% vote against his opponent Rabbi Osdoba.

This was a REAL REFERENDUM and the results are clear that the vast majority of community favors Rabbi Schwei over Rabbi Osdoba.

Rabbi Braun needs to ask Mechila
If Rabbi Braun is serious about healing the community etc, the first thing he has to do is ask Mechila from Rabbi Bogomilsky. The disgraceful way Rabbi Braunís campaign acted, trashing Rabbi Bogomilsky, spreading malicious lies about him accusing him of being responsible for Rabbi Marlows death etcÖwas disgusting, Rabbi Braun didnít put a stop to it during the election, he should at least now apologize for it and then perhaps we can all move on.
(9/6/2010 1:42:45 AM)
Der einikel
Why are Chanina and Polterdark so happy, what are they benefiting from the new Rov. BTW, have u noticed Zaki is growing a beard.
(9/6/2010 1:43:38 AM)
Within a few days (maybe weeks) Rabbi Osdoba will come out with a detailed and documented psak, showing all the lies that were presented by Broin. He will produce a paper chain that follows the money. The psak will be that he cannot sit on the same seat of dayanus as a shakran and a meshuchad.

It would have been more difficult for Rabbi Schwei to take such a stand, had Bogomilski won, but that is history. And history is not always nice. (Zechor al Tishkach churban shel Amalek shebedoreinu.) Just because it happens does not mean it is good.

Anther prediction: Rabbis krinsky and Shemtov panic and demand that Congregation Lubavitch take out a multi-million dollar insurance package, covering all liabilities from over crowding. It couls even become legal battle with the Fire Department taking out an injuction.
(9/6/2010 1:52:33 AM)
no more igros
In an interview some time ago Rav Braun said that one can not use igros for advice only a blessing. Also he said that 770 should be comfortable for everyone to enter. Alternating Shabbos prayers every other Shabbos for each group seems the way to go in 770.
(9/6/2010 2:00:10 AM)
the pictures of an after party are utterly disgraceful, you elected a rov not a quarterback for a superbowl, ochen vei if the so called leaders of our community behave like these then why do you except anything different from the youth tell Rabbi Broin to start his youth campaign with the children at heart i.e - the people in the pictures here

Beis Din Power...
There is one very important thing that NOBODY seems to be realizing here. But the Beis Din (all 3 rabbonim) BETTER realize that:
The whole "Power" that this Beis Din has, is the power that WE GIVE them. this Beis Din has no "Legal" or "Official" power. the ONLY power they have is the power of respect and honor that WE GIVE THEM. beyond that they are POWERLESS! they cannot legally force ANYBODY to do ANYTHING. the only "Power" that they have is the power of honor that we give them.
Having said that, this Beis Din (all 3 Rabbonim) BETTER make sure they behave in a way that brings dignity and respect to the Beis Din. because if they dont, have absolutely no power. the whole power they have is the power of respect that we have for them. they have absolutely no "Legal" power.
And it is precisely for that reason that for so many years, people have been able to abuse this Beis Din and atep on them, because they have absolutely no "Legal" power to do ANYTHING.
They are not the "Congress"
They are not the "Senate"
They are not the "City Council"
They have absolutely no Legal power
So if THIS Beis Din wants to retain Any power (which is only the power of respect from the community to them) they BETTER act in a way which brings dignity and honor to the beis Din. otherwise they will be as powerless as the previous Beis Din

a little introspection please
did anyone ever think that the inability to respect a rav,
comes from the inability to respect oneself.
that is the issue.
you dont have to think too hard to get it.
just pause for a moment and tune in.
find a place within that you respect.
probably there somewhere,
keep digging to you find it.
now you are in a spiritual place
and you find think before posting insulting comments that have no value.

a sad day for lubavitch
just when we think things are getting better & moshiach is almost here, we see more darkness
CH just elected a rov who:
1. has no smicha
2. never sat in a beis din
3. has limited experience of rabbonus
4. involved in a fight with the Rebbe's shluchim in sydney
5. will continue to fight the Rebbe's mosdos, Merkaz & Aguch
6. will support terror and other activities in 770

and did someone say that this was a good decision?

I really fail to see why some are upset with mendy Hendel? If anyone ran a nasty negetive campaign, it was Katzman and his crew. Can you imagine how much money they spent? Every five minuites I had a telephone call, all day long and when I mentioned in the shul where I daven (and Katzman davens there too) that I will not vote for Rabbi Bogomilsky, you should have seen the verbal attacks and the "looks".

So this isn't called terror, but if mendey hendel excercizes his democratic rights, some hate him. I can only add my two sense, there seems to be a lot of anger out there and a lot of jealousy. Its time for the children to grow up.

One more word about the elections. May all Jewish communities all over the world allow CH elections to be an example. No one hit anyone and each person (except for a very few) respected each for whatever way they would vote.
(9/6/2010 6:20:37 AM)
so so sad
What a crying shame. We let a man like that win. He caused so much machlokes in Sydney (I know, I grew up there) that they just want him out. He is backed by the party that spews hatred and filth. He is a young guy which means we are now stuck with him as rov for a very long time. He has absolutely no knowledge of "the fifth shulchan aruch", and he has no tziyur of a rov.

I am so so dissaapointed by our community. This is another nail in the coffin of our future. Just keep an eye out and look for more kids going off the derech etc. This result is going to breed more divisiveness, more extremism and more hate.

It is a sad sad day for Crown Heights, what a pity to be starting a new year like this.

The Shluchim... Now they Will continue to have Rabi Bogomilsky to call at all times for answers as he will have the time... The real losers are CH for one of two reasons]]]]
1. Rabbi Braun decides to be a man of peace, do you think anyone in the above pictures will allow that?
2. Rabbi Braun decides to side with the people in the above pictures, and most of the people that voted because they bealived the lies that were told will stop listening and believing in the system.

Losers; CH

The CH community should follow the example of many other kreizin who split when it became apparent that they will not be able to coexist. There are two satmars? For all intents and purposes there are two Lubavitch's. Let a new community emerge that rejects the messianic cult, appointing their own Rabbonim, and then each will follow his authority. There is simply no way that 46% of CH that voted for R' Bogomilsky will be subjected to the ideological leanings of the meshichistin.

Negative campaigns
The only thing that really makes me wonder about our community is we talk about assimilation of how our children are becoming more and more like the goyim. But the issue is that they learn from their parents. How can a Rav who is suppose to go and paskin items for the community when he runs shmear campaigns. Is that not a form of Loshon Hara? How can we listen to people who talk Loshon Hara? This is why I feel community is assimilating. When politicians run for office they have to deal with negative campagining because the only way they get what they want is to pull someone down to achieve their goal. Why can a candidate for Rav or Vaad Hakol go out and campaign without putting someone else down? It is sad that this is where us a frum jewish people are coming to? I am not saying who should and who should not have won because for me it does not matter due to the fact I probably will never use them anyway. I just dislike the fact that they had to do something negative to gain something positive.

Put your comments together and this is what you get: The silver lining explanation you requested, because I see it loud and clear.
Of course there is an Aibeshter in this world, and everything is for the good. Lubavitch has not fallen low enough yet. The darkest black before the goodness of complete light, has yet to unfold. The Vaad that stood for mesirah (including on some of the founding institutions of CH, which help SO MANY), won this election - look at their sickening smiling faces as they party with the bottle of Smirnoff (och un vei to the leadership!). Them and those behind them with the $$$ will continue to sink Lubavitch as a whole and CH in particular.
Only then will we wake up and demand Ad Mosai - and hopefully still have time to deserve goodness and kindness, and a dignified Lubavitch community the world over.
Meanwhile we have to wait for the silver lining.
The only one that got it so far is Rabbi Bogomilsky and his wonderful Rebbetzin. They didn't need this position!!!!!

#96 Rabbi Schwei against Rabbi Osdoba?! what?!
what a bizzare statement you made. How could you Rabbi Schwei be against Rabbi Osdoba? is this the respect a Rov voted it by the kohol years ago, without any questions... brochos from the rebbe, etc. etc. etc... and yet, shcwei is against him... and yet people voted in support of that.????? is this what this is all about. what a grob yung!
(9/6/2010 10:05:27 AM)
excuse me, i naively thought it was election for the rov, not a political issue. are you saying that rabbonim are influenced by political considerations and not by daas torah? what kind of message are these comments sending to young people? what a cinical group of people! the rav was elected by the majority and from now on he must be respected. all the problems of young people start with disrespect for authority. stop loshon horah, it's erev rosh hashana. a gut yor to all yidden, may it bring peace.

To those who think every vote for R. Braun is nothing more than a show of support for R. Schwei, it's not! It's a show of support for R. Braun and I think he is independent enough to regard it as such. All 3 Rabbanim will understand: we voted for a committee of 3,not of 2.

Rabbi Bogomilsky was a Rov Yesterday, is a Rov Today and will still be a Rov Tomorrow.
(9/6/2010 11:06:16 AM)
Rabbi Osdoba is not a team player.

By nature, Rabbi Osdoba just can't do it. It's not Rabbi Osdoba's fault. He just doesn't have it within him to be a Team Player and to be BOTEL to a majority of the Badatz.

He will likely quit the Beis Din like a sore looser.

Since Bogomilsky heads the Vaad RA-BONEY Lubavitch, I am sure he can find some clerical job for his ruining mate, who lost his unilateral control of his CHK now and he also lost his "badatz" dictatorship now.

No more "one man show" in the Badataz.

Until now it was a farce, where 1 man took away the community_owned_CHK and made a family Melave_Malka out of the CHK, where he alone, as "a 1 man show", decides if we drink bugs in the water or have non-Lubavitcher Shochtim to do our Shechita etc.

I stay out of politics
rather focus on learning
i know politics is a reality
finally hitting me what a sad reality it is
and right here in the Rebbe's Shchuna.
It was nice being a blind baal teshuva for a while
i thought anyone who has chassidus and the Rebbe in their life obviously would be running their life on a "higher grade of fuel."
how unfortunate to see you all be surrounded by jewels,
only to pass them by blindly.
we are only as rich as we allow ourselves to be.
we have available so much
you all remain self centered, egotistical, status seeking, empty people, who dont know what the meaning of 'taking responsibility for your lives.
this is partly demonstrated in 770. The noise of chatter while Rabbi Glukowsky spoke 2 shabbosim ago was disgraceful. why? ask yourself how you could talk when a rov - especially of this calibre is speaking to the Kehila on Shabbos during the Rebbe's minyan.

(9/6/2010 11:38:14 AM)
To # 151
You have it backwards.

The breakdown of the machlokes between the 2 Rabbonim was as follows:

Rabbi Osdoba had unilateral power as a 1 man show, before Rabbi Schwei was elected and after the community elected Rabbi Schwei because they did not want a "1 man show" of Rabbi Osdoba ALONE - then Rabbi Osdoba REFUSED to be a Team Player and Rabbi Osdoba refused to POWER_SHARE with his fellow equal newly elected Rav.

Rabbi Schwei was fighting for EQUAL POWER as Shulchan Aruch Demands and as the community mandated.

Rabbi Osdoba was fighting to retain his unilateral power and have his own 3 hand picked people whom he can fire (if the don't listen to him) because he hand-appointed his 3 cronies 1)Segal 2)Reitport 3)Zirkind.

Unilateral dictatorship lost and our 3d rav now means that Rabbi Schwei gets what he wanted which is what HASHEM wants TRUE DEMOCRACY in the Badataz.

True Democracy in the Badatz what the Rebbe wants and it is what the community chose and is the opposite of Katzamn, Osdoba, Hershkop and Reitzes were fighting for.

Democracy WON and Dictatorship Lost.

Until now Osdoba was a Dictatorship since he refused to be a team player.

Now Osdoba will have no choice but to either shape up and follow Shulchan Aruch, or be shown the door as Rabbi Rosenberg's Psak Din spells it out precisely in these words.
(9/6/2010 11:40:09 AM)
Democracy Won and Dictorship lost, This Election
Democracy won in C.H. on Sunday.

All the prior Baaley Machlokes have been issued Pink Slips, by the voting community.

Anyone have any new jobs for the new unemployed Baaley Machlokes, who are now out of business, since Democracy in the Badataz has now won over the team who favored single handed Dictatorship in the Badataz until now?

As a former Sydney person (lived there most of my life) we will surely miss Rabbi Braun. He has done very good work with young couples and even more and better work with the youth. I am one of the youth that he has saved and if it were not for Rabbi Braun, I would have looked like many of the youth today in CH.
People talk and have no idea what they are saying. If Rabbi Braun will continue working with teenagers and newly married couples, he will change the scene in CH. Furthermore, reading many of the above posts, shows how low some have fallen, instead of respect for someone who can learn more and who dedicated his life to Torah and not to more and more money, these posts are from people who have no future and no past. But if you are smart, forget what anyone around you is saying, get a life with Rabbi Braun and it will make you into a new person.

Why Celebrate the outcome of the Election?
Is something wrong with this picture?

No, absolutely not!

Something is wrong with YOU if you see anything wrong, with celebrating, any winner, of any election.

This was the most important election (the only LIFETIME election), for the most prestigious elected position of our entire community.

The winer is not someone of "this team" nor of "that team".

The winner is, of ALL THE VOTERS united, who collectively (by majority vote), all jointly in a united effort to democratically chose their elected choice.

No matter who the winner may be, the only reason anyone can possibly not rejoice is only if something is wrong with them and they refuse to embrace the results of democratic process.

The question is not why this person or why that person WAS celebrating.

The Real Question is why didn't we see this person or that person smiling and celebrating and why wasn't he dancing from joy that we now have a democratically elected Beis Din of 3.

The only ones who didn't sing and dance from joy were the SORE LOSER'S who refuse to accept the democratic election process.

If there was a "joint party" where both "teams" danced together, then no one would question "why are you so happy. Then it would be considered politically OK to rejoice?

So in effect there is nothing wrong with being happy after the election is finally over and we have the results we all wanted - a democratically elected Rav.

The only thing wrong with this picture is WHY WASN'T Reitzes, Katzman, Hershkop and Osdoba dancing too?

Rabbi Shaya Broyn, is Man with principals and standards, and I don't think he will bend to Mendy Hendel, but as of right now his standards r on the meshichist side, let's hope he sees the the picture and trys to please everyone, and be a truly independent, because he's a geshmake guy, who stood up to his views and eventualy sydney's machlokas which he was in middle of, went away and became a reality for the sydneysider's and they are basicaly living in peace, so let's try to look to the future with optimism, and give him a chance, and nomore bad talking because then there is never a chance of moving past the arguements, live and let live and from the words of rodney king "can't we all just along" and I may not be a meshichist but just give the Rov time to be a Rov and if everyone can just be open minded to other peoples views, that may just be the last that brings moshiach

In the election process we follow Hashems command to us and his will, that we should choose our Rav, the way Hashem wants us to, via democratic elections.

The result of the election however, is ONLY the results which Hashem wants.

There is nothing that people can do, "even to vote someone in" unless it is G-d's choice that this be the result of the election.

G-d HIMSELF has chosen Rabbi Braun, to be the outcome of our election.

Anyone who has an issue with the outcome of the election or anyone who thinks it was a bad choice, is disagreeing with HASHEMS CHOICE or not recognizing that the "Election_RESULTS" are "HASHEMs DOING" which is outright, total Kfira, plain and simple!

Anyone who learned, even the Aleph Beis of Chassidus, understands that.

ess tee
any way you slice it a majority of the people who care anything about this election and voted, voted for a certain man.

so if you voted and your man lost, take it like a man. don't bad mouth the results or process.

i, for one, could not care less, since the whole concept appears to me like a golden calf replacing moses. ch and lubav have fundamental spiritual and theological problems that will not be resolved by any tribunal or democratic process.

but i do welcome the democratic aspect as far as the social aspect - i respect your right to vote your own leader and follow him. just make sure to respect mine and stay out of my 4 amos.

i happen to live in a neighborhood called ch, but i don't "belong to" any community or religioius group here.

Who is going to pay the FULL TIME Rov's salary? He has 11 children, right? He is suppose to be working full time for the Beis Din, right? He has to move and come here...I geuss S.B. Drizin will lay out the money, but do you think that will go on forever? Oh try taxing the Jewish residents of CH see where you go with that. With all the division and strife I don't see much fund raising oppurtunities here. Bogomilsky would not have these problems.

Kol Hakavod to Yosef Katzman #146
For demonstrating respect and class for the electoral process. When you hope for one person to win and the other one does, you still have to respect the other one. That's the idea of an election.

If you would have wanted your candidate to be respected, so should you respect to other candidate.

It is for the BEST of this Kehila for the Rabbonim to be respected, for the Beis Din to be strong and for the Machlokes to end.

To #188
Please acquire a good understanding of Chassidus, before you go live with your ignorant preaching.

Yes, Hashem knew that R' Braun would win, but he gave THE CHOICE into the hands of the Anash of CH.

So yes, for those of our Anash who feel that R' Bogomilsky should have won, they have a legitimate complaint to those who voted for R' Braun.

This, sir, is the Alef Bais of Chassidus.

P.S. If I choose to do an Aveira C"V, is that also "Hashem's Ratzon"? After all, I wouldn't do it if Hashem didn't want me to! ----- or would I?

Know the answer to THAT question? Good! Now apply it to your silly comment.

(9/6/2010 5:07:27 PM)
To all silly people
How about everyone tries not to be silly?

To # 193 and to # 196
You are both Amey Haratzim in Chassidus and # 188 is actually 100% correct.

See the Rebbe's Sicha of Lech Lecha in Likutey Sichos Chelek Hey (entire sicha but especially) Page # 66 and onwards.
(9/6/2010 5:49:40 PM)
It behooves the Rabbonim and Shluchim who wrote eloquent support letters for Rabbi Bogomilsky to now write eloquent Mazal Tov letters supporting the winning Rov. Silence from these Rabbonim can be misinterpreted...and lead Ch'v to chaos

a word to the wise, and wisdom to everyone
be normal. remember your manners. remember Torah and mitzvos. Move on, keep moving forward.
He sounds good, and he looks very bright.
(9/6/2010 11:11:06 PM)
Moving forward
C'mon people. You have the third rov, now MOVE ON!! Start rebuilding the shechunoh and make it a cohesive community that will be lesheim ulesiferess.
Enough is enough.!!
If Moshiach were to come and read some of the disparaging remarks here, he would be most embarrased. Everyone! have a Shonoh Toivoh begashmiyus uberuchniyus gam yachad!!
(9/6/2010 11:30:41 PM)
go crackberry!
may it be the year of smart-phones and smart rabbis
(9/6/2010 11:35:46 PM)
Now I know
So now it is clear that the community as a whole does support all of this nonsense from Mendy Hendel to the tzfatim and any body who make as if this is not supported by the community is in denial. We han an open and free election and the tzfatim won so I give up. I'll be moving out pretty soon.

If i was to take the combined brain power of all the masses of morons who comment on this website, especially in regards to †the elections, it wouldnt come close to 1% of the amazing intelligence that makes Rabbi Braun who he is.
He is a kind, caring, chasidisheh rov and someone who beleive it or not, did not cause any machlokes in sydney. He is a peace loving individual who does not label anyone, but rather loves and tollerates all jews equally.
I have had the plesure of knowing Rabbi Braun for many years and have no doubt that he will be a great rov for Crown Heights. Residents of Crown Heights please stop your immature bickering and give him the chance he rightfully deserves!!
(9/7/2010 1:44:21 AM)
is that chanina????????????????
on the front picture and others?
(sure looks different)

Nasty Comments are not from Crown Heights
To 205. The nasty comments are not from members of Crown Heights. They are from out of towners. (perhaps they pose as Crown Heighters. Comments are anonymous) The Crown Heighters elected Rabbi Braun and are very happy.
