Parents, teachers, and supporters of Cheder Lubavitch of Morristown gathered this past Motzei Shabbos to celebrate the Cheder’s support of every child.
After listening to a heartwarming choir performed by the Cheder boys division, the participants of the Melave Malka enjoyed a scrumptious dairy buffet while listening to a story of the Baal Shem Tov recited by a Cheder student.
A slide show of student pictures depicted how the Cheder caters to the many intelligences and ways that students learn.
The evening’s highlight was a lecture by Shimon Waronker, celebrated principal of P.S. 22, one of NYC’s most dangerous public schools. Mr. Waronker inspired the crowd with stories of bitachon in Hashem and respect for every child as the key to successful education in every institution.
Much of the evening reflected the students’ participation, including a display at the Melave Malka of a beautiful glass Alef-Beis Mirror made by the Cheder children that will be auctioned off at the Cheder’s upcoming fundraiser for the year on February 26. Buy your ticket for this mirror and many fabulous prizes while helping to support the Cheder by visiting www.chederauction.org. Buy your tickets before February 18 and double your money!
