Cape Town, South Africa is renowned for its beautiful weather, breathtaking views, and its thriving young Jewish Community.
Bringing that all together is JT Boyz, a youth club for Jewish teens that utilizes outdoor sport and recreation to create a positive and exciting experience for local youths.
Under the leadership of Rabbi Mendel Popack, Head Shliach of Cape Town, JT Boyz is directed and coordinated by the Bochurim Shluchim in the second most populous city in South Africa, and aims to “bring Judaism to you in an exhilarating and thrilling fashion.” The program runs for ages 9-13 and includes hands on crafts, volunteer work, sport outings, trips and learning classes.
This past Thursday, 25 Jewish boys ages 9-13 enjoyed a delightful evening of soccer, learning and a Braii.
“JT Boyz is not just a program for making new Jewish friends and hanging out, its also about learning Torah, praying and playing in a fun way,” says Shimmy Wrightman, one of the organizers of the bi-monthly club.
