The Chabad Jewish Center of Wyoming announced its third series of Jewish-themed concerts, a February lineup of bluegrass, concert piano and klezmer events under the banner of the Jackson Hole Jewish Music Festival.
Home to an estimated 500 Jewish residents and the destination of choice for approximately 40,000 Jewish tourists, the Wyoming mountain resort serves as a gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and a home to several world-class skiing locations.
According to Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Zalman Mendelsohn, the festival offers a broad range of genres and free or subsidized admission tickets.
It “helps to further complement the region by giving the community a chance to explore the fascinating and often divergent forms of Jewish expression from around the world,” says Mendelsohn.
The festival was launched in December 2009 at the Alpenhof Hotel and Four Seasons Resort. A summer benefit followed in August 2010 at the Center for the Arts.
This year’s event will include a Feb. 13 bluegrass concert featuring Shalom Feivel and Rocky Mountain Jewgrass; a Feb. 20 concert by pianist Gershon Wachtel; and a Jewish jazz and klezmer performance by the Andy Statman Trio. All three concerts will take place at the Snake River Lodge and Spa in Teton Village.
