Chabad of Mumbai has not been located in the Nariman House for a while already, a new Shluchim couple has been appointed, a different crop of Israeli backpackers are hanging around, and life is moving on in India’s capital.
But Rabbi Gabi and Rivky Holtzberg obm are far from forgotten.
A photo of the dedicated couple who opened the outreach center and were later murdered in it during the 2008 terror attacks, proudly greets visitors to the current location of Chabad in Mumbai, which is still not being publicized due to security concerns.
While the exact address is not available on lists of Chabad Houses around the world, Jewish businessman and tourists find their way there and are warmly greeted by the Shluchim Rabbi Chanoch Gechtman and his wife Leiky.
COLlive.com has learned that Gechtman is currently in Israel for a family occasion. Helping run the Chabad House, we were told, are the bochurim Eliezer Lyons and Nissan Zigman.
The Gechtmans and the two are holding daily prayers, Torah and Chassidus classes, kosher meals and Shabbos and holiday events.

As Jews we know that Hashem watches over us and we will be safe if He wants us to be, whether in Baltimore or Mumbai. As Chassidim we understand that this is the most beautuful, holy work, and with the help of Hashem and the Kochos of the Rebbe they will surely accomplish the unbelievable work they set out to do!
