Cheder Lubavitch elementary school in Morristown, New Jersey, has received a $750 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program to support the school’s Smart Board Technology that allows for a more interactive and multi media classroom.
Smart Boards are interactive whiteboards that allow teachers to give enhanced, dynamic classroom based instruction to their students.
Alex Norkin of Exxon on Morris St. worked with school officials to secure the grant, which is one of 2,400 available to schools across the country served by Exxon or Mobil stations.
The grants were made possible by funding from the ExxonMobil Corporation.
“Cheder Lubavitch works hard to make learning interesting and fun,” said Alex Norkin. “As an Exxon retailer, I am proud to help young people of Morristown.”
The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program is designed to provide Exxon and Mobil retailers with an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.
ExxonMobil believes that, as members of the community, local retailers are best qualified to work with local educators to help identify schools and programs most in need of support.
Norkin met stringent eligibility criteria before applying for and being awarded this grant, including having a commitment to provide a superior buying experience for customers.
to open for future grants
B”H for the $750 or $750,000! Every penny is a Brocha from Hashem!
it’s $750 more then they had before.
Good job Chani Goldberg
Exxon gives each service station owner the discretion to give a $750 grant each year to a private school. In exchange they want some good PR, somewhere. Exxon of Morristown gives to the Cheder every year, and we are thankful. This is just a way to show it. It’s COL’s decision whether they choose to consider it newsworthy.
LOL true dat for ppl who dont understand what cheder is… every dollar is needed, $750 is nothing short of a miracle!
don’t you all remember the maaseh about the miser who would give a penny or nickel when people would come to his door asking for tzedakah… some kind of baal shem tov story….
in the end the 1st person who was gracious ended up getting millions.
Kol Hakavod to Chani Goldberg for everything she does to enhance our Cheder. This may not be alot of money but every bit helps and I’m sure she put alot of effort into getting this grant as she does in getting many grants and assistance for special programs for our children.
I heard from someone in Morristown it was $75,000.
is this supposed to be good PR for them?
they are one of the largest companies in the world and they gave $750 they should be embarrassed
now my classroom can get painted!!
cheder needs money so every dollar they get is amazing!!!!
from the 2nd richest company in the world
Yay for Chani Goldberg!! The best principle in lubavitch!
A whole $750? In one installment or two? Very impressed!
Bh! Cheder Lubavitch will finally be able to balance their budget.
Somebody just put a dollar in the Pushka!
this is sooo sad! this isnt news… i donated over 750 dollars yesterday and didnt make it on to COL
thats a lot of money.
It’s very nice that the Cheder got this grant, but I’m really not impressed with $750 from a corporation like Exxon-Mobil, anyone else agree?
P.S. I don’t know the exact cost of a smart board, but I think that should buy about 20% of one.
A $750 donation now qualifies as news?
I got more from Bogolugov and he is not my Bal Habos….
