Daniel M. Donovan’s campaign for New York State Attorney General announced Wednesday that it has been endorsed by the Crown Heights Political Action Committee.
The endorsment comes after a productive few days that included meeting with leaders of the Crown Heights Jewish community on Sunday October 17, 2010.
Citing his 15 years experience as a prosecutor and record of accomplishment as District Attorney, the leaders of the Crown Heights PAC feel that Donovan has “demonstrated both a unique ability to do the job of Attorney General and a true appreciation for the needs of the entire Crown Heights community.”
Donovan, 53, is currently the Richmond County District Attorney and the Republican and Conservative Party nominee for New York State Attorney General.
“The Crown Heights PAC enthusiastically endorses Dan Donovan in his bid to become New York State’s next Attorney General,” said Moshe Malamud, a prominent businessman and a founding member of the Crown Heights PAC.
“In these dire times, we need an Attorney General independent of special interests who is capable of fighting and protecting us from the corruption that clouds Albany. Dan Donovan is the man for that job,” Malamud said in a statement sent to COLlive.com.
Donovan said: “The entire Crown Heights community is model of tolerance and diversity in New York City. Day after Day, they teach us how different communities can come together and live side by side, in a peaceful fashion, and appreciate each others’ differences and diversity.”
Also present at the meeting were some of the newly elected leaders of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council, although the Council does not make political endorsements.
While meeting with the leaders of Crown Heights, Donovan proclaimed: “19 million New Yorkers will have an annex in my office. Everyone, every New Yorker, not just ‘activists’ or the politically connected, will have an Attorney General that is looking out for them.”

When Schneiderman got Al’s vote Schneiderman cited Sharpton’s pursuit of justice and said he would “seek to follow that model as AG,” adding: “The House of Justice will have an annex in Albany for the first time in the history of… Read more »
Paladino losing in landslide to Cuomo. Schneiderman well ahead of Donovan. Jewish Crown Heights is the lowest voting Hasidic community in the entire state. Am I missing something here or is our so-called PAC deluded beyond belief?
