A community-wide gathering will take place Thursday night at the Atrium Hall in Monsey, NY, on behalf of Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin.
The event follows Rubashkin’s acquittal in the state trial this past Monday and ahead of the federal sentencing on June 22.
The event will begin at 9 p.m. with Tehillim.
The first speaker will be Rabbi Menachem Meir Weissmandel, rov of Nitra in Monsey, former rav hamachshir at Agriprocessors, and a defense witness in the recent trial.
The gathering will then be addressed by Rabbi Yerachmiel Simins, noted attorney at law, legal advisor in the Rubashkin case, and one of the quiet heroes of the Monsey community.
The following speaker will be Rabbi Pinchos Lipschutz, publisher of Yated Neeman and a major advocate in the Rubashkin case.
The assemblage will then hear from Rabbi Shimon Zev Meisels, rov of Bais Medrash Beirach Moshe in Monroe, NY, who will deliver the keynote address in Yiddish.
The final speakers will be R’ Meir Simcha and Mendy Rubashkin, sons of Reb Sholom Mordechai, both of Postville, Iowa.
The event will feature a special guest appearance by Mr. Mark Weinhardt, Rubashkin’s defense attorney in the recent state trial.
A phone hook-up of the event for non-Monsey residents is available by Chazak Inspiration Line beginning at 9 PM EST. Call 718.258.2008, and then choose menu 9, option 9.
