As the economic recession leaves its mark on day to day life, additional generous aid is being offered to Jewish families in the Crown Heights area.
Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC) in conjunction with Chevra Simchas Shabbos V’Yomtov (CSSY) is organizing a Pesach food distribution for families.
A anonymous donor has pledged to fund a large amount of vegetables and some other staple Pesach foods, Vaad Hakohol member Zev Cadaner told COLlive.com.
Cadaner, who is coordinating the effort together with CSSY Director Benjy Stock, thanked the donor for hs generosity and asked the community to pray for Refoel Chaim ben Chana for a speedy recovery.
Food will be given according to the number of members of a family. A coupon must be obtained from the CHJCC offices at 387 Kingston Avenue.
Trucks will be delivering to the Beis Rivkah parking lot on Montgomery Street (between Nostrand and New York) at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, 9 Nissan – March 24.
Don’t forget Mrs. Spielman, (and family) standing on here feet, giving out food year after year…..
Thank you all the organizations for making Pesach happen for people that are caught in rough times. Without all this help, my family would have nothing for pesach this year. I hope to be a contributer next year!

amazing organization thank you very much for helping the community in the time of year when it is most needed: there are one or two things i would like to point out about these organizations firstly: wouldn’t it be so much better if all the organizations for ma’os Chitim would work together and create one central place for everyone instead of each person for itself and there would be one database for everyone, there are two advantages of this: noone gets food twice: the people who need it are all in one database so there is henceforth less baal tashlich… Read more »
