Kelly Checks Kotel Security
New York City's top cop Ray Kelly visited the Kotel in Jerusalem Wednesday, to discuss security measures. Commissioner of the New York City Police Department Raymond Kelly visited the Kotel in Jerusalem Wednesday.
He was greeted by Knesset member and former Chief of Staff of the IDF Shaul Mofaz and Kotel Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch.
They were joined by Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
Kelly prayed at the Wall and toured the underground Western Wall Tunnels, the renovation of which caused Arab rioting in 1996.
Mofaz shared the many challenges in maintaining peace in Jerusalem's Old City, with its inhabitants of many faiths.
Kelly was given a review of the special security systems which overlook the Old City.
One of Kelly's notable career innovations was the stationing of detectives in cities throughout the world following terrorist attacks, to determine if there are any connections to New York City.
