I write music on the side (a large side I must say) and even composed a song for billionaire Ronald Perelman (which he loved) during his visit to Camp Gan Israel in Parksville, NY.

From my opinion, this contest is based on a persons singing skills, yes this video was pretty cool, it did not highlight any amazing voice, it was covered up by a twisted video. Maybe there really isn't a good voice behind the video.

Here's my honest report without bashing or sugar coating. It seems like this bochur is def a talented guy with tons of potential but I'd like to see more singing and less "show/shtick" It was too distracting. Please post another song but more song, less show.

had he not done his twist, i would give him a chance, but it just came out very twisted. (pun intended) sing a song, show a little personality, and thats it. want to do a little audio editing, ok, but not too much. and the whole video editing part, aside from not being done very well, was more twisted then the "bochurim gone wild" style CGI videos. if i judge him on his voice alone, if i can try and hear his voice itself, i would give him "decent".

This guy has an amazing voice.
Dont forget, anyone can be a singer, you gotta know how to entertain as well, and this guy is an entertainer.
Keep in mind, he is only 19, and I'm sure his entertainment will mature and get better as he gets older.
The video was quirky, camp style, not particularly my style, but you can tell he is enjoying himself, which is more impt than anything else!

What impresses me most about this is the fact the lightheartedness of it all. Although he is talented he dosen't look like he takes himself so darn seriously. Only Yisroel Koch, Moshe Lehr, Mendel Markel and Boruch Blesofsky got that part. The others look like they will cry if they lose.

first of all, so what? let's assume that this kid has a lot of family and friends who are all voting for him - you ask if the judge can see past this - not sure of your ta'aneh. Anyone is free to vote. If this was purely based on the judge alone, there would be no voting. secondly, let's use the number 100. If 100 people are voting, and there are takeh 40 voters who are friends or relatves, shouldn't they get equal representation? It doesn't matter what the motive behind the vote is. If his fans are a large percentage, so mistameh the "yes" votes will be a large percentage. I don't see anything unfair with that. I see this kid from time to time when I daven with the Smicha minyan and all I see is a kid who likes to enjoy life within the boundaries of halacha so why are some people so upset by his style of performance he's just having a good time and he happens to be quite talented at what he's doing so loosen-up and and let nature take its course if he wins I guess that that they're looking for and if not it's not what their looking for. In any event Boruch keep it up but please don't miss minyen again on account of staying up late for this competition your SMICHA Etc. are much more important than this whole gesheft and I know that you know it too. Keep in mind, he is only 19, and I'm sure his entertainment will mature and get better as he gets older.
