As part of the Rebbe’s instruction to hold a Kinus Torah after a Yom Tov, Mesivta Ohr Temimim of Toronto had its own Kinnus Torah on Tuesday, Isru Chag Shavuos.
The program began with Rabbi Mendel Landa, the magid shiur of Shiur Gimmel, explaining the significance of the Rebbe’s Horaha to have Kinnus Torah and the Chizuk a Kinnus Torah adds to one’s Limud Hatorah.
Five bochurim from shiur gimmel presented pilpulim on various topics of Perek Rishon in Masechte Baba Kama. “It was very inspiring to watch and listen to young mesivta bochurim as they fluently presented their beautiful insights in Torah in a public setting,” said Rabbi Zalman Aharon Grossbaum, Head Shliach of Southern Ontario.
Rabbi Mendel Kaplan, Shliach in Flamingo, spoke divrei hisorerus on the importance of koching in learning, and elaborated on the lessons we ought to take from Matan Torah, especially the days after Matan Torah; total dedication to Limud Ha’Torah.
Amongst the guests in attendance were Rabbi M. Spalter, Rabbi Y. Shur, Rabbi Y. Landa, Rabbi M. Kaplan, Rabbi E. Posner, Rabbi M. Shusterman, Rabbi M. Landa, Rabbi B. Zaltzman.
“This was an amazing opportunity for the younger bochurim to watch how older bochurim stand up and deliver a pilpul with confidence”, said Menahel Rabbi Eliezer Posner.
The kinus also marked a siyum on Perek Rishon of Baba Kama, and was celebrated with a Seudas Mitzva together with their magid shiur Rabbi Landa.
