Rabbi Shloimy Greenwald has announced that the Sunday Kollel for men at Beis Gimpel Chaim shul in Crown Heights will be renamed for his grandfather, Rabbi Mordechai Tzvi Greenwald, who passed away last week.
Rabbi Tzvi Greenwald, 85, was a beloved veteran Chabad educator for more than 50 years. He was one of the chief educators of the vocational school in Kfar Chabad for many years.
Thanks to his powerful speaking abilities, he was asked to join the various activities organized by Tzach in Israel, and he participated as a featured speaker in many Chabad-Lubavitch programs.
In the latter part of his life, he devoted himself to giving lessons in the framework of the Kollel Tiferet Zekeinim in the Beis Menachem shul in Kfar Chabad.
“Our Zaida lived and breathed Torah his entire life,” his grandson said. “It is for this reason and our honor we will be naming our very successful Sunday Kollel – Kollel Mordechai Tzvi.”
Located at 309 New York Avenue in Brooklyn, (and also known as The Nemes Hall), the Kollel is held on Sunday from 8:15-10:30 am.
