In places like Windsor, Canada; Amersfoort, Holland; Gaithersburg, Maryland; Doylestown, Pennsylvania; and Kenosha, Wisconsin, girls are getting back into the swing of normal life. Just one week ago, the finalists from various school across the globe were celebrating at the Chidon Shabbaton 5778.
But as life for the girls calms down and they return to their homes, Chidon Headquarters is anything but quiet. Today, more than 850 boys are on their way to Crown Heights for their own Chidon Shabbaton.
“The amount that these students learned—the hours invested in following the Rebbe’s hora’a that every man, woman, and child learn Sefer Hamitzvos—is astounding,” says Chayolei Tzivos Hashem director, Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum.
“The girls Chidon was incredible and we are excited about welcoming the boys!” Esther Zucker, director of communications, explained. “These chayolim earned every part of the packed weekend we planned for them. It’s going to be the trip of a lifetime.”
Last week, energy in the room was electric as the girls took the stage for the Chidon game show. And now, with just a few days until the boys’ event, tickets are selling out!
The boys’ Shabbaton had an attendance of over 500 chayolim last year. This year, the Crown Heights community will host 850 boys. What’s on the agenda for these hard-working chayolim? You’ll just have to wait and find out.
Doors open 10:00 a.m. on Sunday at the Kings Performance Hall in Flatbush. Can’t make it live? Join us virtually by logging on to Chabad.org/chidon.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the Chidon boys to Crown Heights I would like to wish you all a lot of luck of this Sunday of your test the most important thing is never give up you can do it keep on smiling and keep it going good luck we want moshiach now
Kol Hakavod LEC (Miami) students and staff for the beautiful send-off. A real example of Ahavas Yisrael to be happy for those leaving even if you are not. So you are all true Chayolim!!
in my house we are constantly having guests and we look at it as a privilege not a burden
ashreinu that we have the zechus to host guests week after week
But next year please have the Chidons before Purim – not erev Pesach. I really wanted to attend, but I live out of town and because both Chidons were scheduled erev Pesach, I really couldn’t attend. Very disappointed.
I spy Yudi Reinetz! Go Yudi!
Thank you, Crown Heights for always hosting!
BTW every bochur, every girl is a “top” one 🙂
Best teacher and Rabbi out there!
Go LEC boys
Good luck everyone and enjoy!!
Great ישר כוח for the Lec teachers and faculty you are doing good job !!
I agree with you. My house has bh been a revolving door he whole year. I do it with the greatest pleasure. But so close to Pesach is a challenge. I think the chidon should be held after Pesach. The parents that send their children should be responsible enough to tell them not to bring food/chometz with them. Have consideration for those who are making Pesach.
Shimmy Weinbaum, you are the force behind keeping this generation of children frum and excited about Torah and Mitzvos!! Yasher Koach and thank you!
U can say no if it’s too hard no one’s forcing u

A big shout out to the Tzivos Hashem team who hosted over 800 girls last week and are doing it all again for almost 900 boys this week! They are doing it all with the same energy and enthusiasm as if the first week hasn’t already drained them. Just amazing!
I agree
That is what makes our community so special. We are a shlichus community. Welcoming, hosting and teaching by example. What greater gift to give to our children.
Some of us didn’t merit to move out on Shlichus but a home full of guest and hachnasas orchim brings that atmosphere.
Two of my daughters went to the Chidon. I was actually just saying to them how incredible it is, the way that the families of Crown Heights open their doors, week after to week for every event that brings the crowds to Crown Heights. You all deserve a huge yasher koach! The Shluchim would not be able to do accomplish all that they do without your amazing hospitality!
Hope u have a great time! Hatzlacha
But I hope you print this comment. We in CH have been hosting every week for the last 2 months almost every week. Kinus mens- Kinus Ladies YU Shabbaton – Chidon girls – Chidon boys – Cteen – etc etc etc. It is erev pesach and it is very hard to throw a 1000 boys on everyone’s heard EREV PESACH. I ask of you maybe build a place for these people and kids and teens and shluchim to stay. There is 1 million SF next to 580 Crown which can be built for community purposes. It is hard for eveyone… Read more »
