A special Sefer Torah is being commenced to honor the memory of Chana Kesselman, a young Shlucha of the Rebbe who lived with her parents and family in South Carolina.
Chana, age 7, tragically passed away on Tuesday, 29 Teves 5778, after much Tehillim was said around the world in her merit.
“Chana celebrated being Jewish every day of her life,” the Sefer Torah campaign page, led by her parents Rabbi Leibel and Musie Kesselman, Directors of Chabad of Greenville and the Upstate of South Carolina, reads.
“She loved doing Mitzvot and loved to help others in doing them too. From the youngest age, Chana would hold her toy Torah tightly, close to her heart and passionately sing “Torah, Torah I love you”. As she grew older her favorite bedtime stories were those about the weekly Torah portion. We are writing a Torah scroll that will carry Chana’s name, and will continue to spread Chana’s light.”
