IsraelNationalNews.com reports:
The world’s largest Chabad study center in Tzfat will likely be forcibly evacuated by court order next week, the Behadrei Haredim website reported.
Over 500 people study at the Chabad Yeshiva in Tzfat. The yeshiva is located in an old hotel in Tzfat’s Old City and was the subject of a long court battle after the campus was sold to a foreign buyer.
A judge recently ruled against the yeshiva and ordered that the building be emptied by next Thursday. Should students not respect the ultimatum, they will likely be forcibly evicted by police.
“Since you have not listened to the court order to remove yourselves from the premises, I hereby inform you that the evacuation is scheduled for December 21, 2017 from 8:00 onward.” wrote the judge in a missive the yeshiva received last week.
Students at the yeshiva vowed to resist the order if it meant clashing with police. “We won’t evacuate the building. They will have to come and drag us out – this is the Rebbe’s yeshiva and it will never close,” said one student.
“This is a building that houses hundreds of yeshiva students. Where do they want us to go?” asked another.
“The sale of the building is a real injustice. The yeshiva was given to us legally by way of donation almost 20 years ago,” a Tzfat resident told Behadrei Haredim.
Not enough facts to deserve comment.
I was shocked to find out from a friend that people were bashing this yeshiva, and calling it a Tzfat training camp on this website. Whoever these people are, I can assure you that they have an agenda against their opinion, and don’t even care what goes on in that yeshiva. They just comment away from their comfortable living room couch. The reason why I am leaving a comment is because people don’t realize that this is an actual Yeshiva!! You can’t just go around parading that it should close down! No matter what your political opinion is! I’m a… Read more »
Amazing place where with amazing energy and staff
Very dedicated good people run the yeshiva with a deep connection to rebbe.
That’s it , iy”h there will be a yeshua very soon.
Loved every minute I learned there.
now they will come to 770 for mesivtah…
my son from CH went there and loved it. He said they truly care about the bochurim and he’s frum and chasidish today thanks to ‘that’ Yeshiva.
As far as putting up a fight against police, not a good idea at all!!! I hope Hanhala will forbid any clashes and find a safe place for the boys to go learn
Two of my sons also learned there for 3 of their years of Yeshiva.Today they are both good husbands/fathers and earn a respectable living outside of the Yeshiva life.Obviously both have smicha, one is a lawyer and one is a dayan.People have no idea of the life there.PLease don’t tar every student with the same brush because a few bochurim misbehave.
as the caption claims on bottom of this page.
When we know the details we can start debating it.
The bochurim who learn there and learned there in the past were busy on mivtzoim.
Keep hating losers.
Any feeling for other jews? And fellow lubavitchers!!! Just btw I know too many people that went there that no other yeshiva worked for them and literally slowly falling off the path, and then they went to this yeshiva and they are still now very chassidish bochurim (and not fanatics either!) Lubavitch is still alive and pumping only because of these people, even though I dont agree in everything they do they definitely give a massive push and emphasis on ‘Rebbe’ which is needed by every person, even more now then ever before!
They’re your brothers, our family. How dare you think of yourself as a separate entity from H’ and these too!! It is despicable to promote division amongst Jews! Achdut is what brings Moshiach. Together we can win. United we can succeed. Divided we fall. Sorry that such a thing as a Haman has to be the thing that causes unity. Why should you have to be scared to death before you observe the halachot of v’ahavta l’reacha k’mocha?
I am a bochur who lives in ch and I now learn in tzfas, I can tell you from my personal experience that this yeshiva brings out the chossid in all the bochurim which includes going to mikve every day, waking up for chassidus ect. There are many great rabbi with different type of shiurim on all different levels… You can come see for yourself!!! (It’s just sad to see some people who think they know everything and start calling people thugs ect.) ~yechi hamelech
You have no right saying any of the such. I’m an American Bochur that lives on shlichus in Florida under merkoz.my family doesn’t wave flags, And as shocking as this sounds to you, I learned there for my 3 years of Zal. It’s not extreme or radical like you think it is. It’s a very good yeshiva, that has great Mashpiim, and produces many chassidishe bochurim. I can go on and on, but I won’t. You don’t deserve my time . If you consider yourself a chossid of the Rebbe, dont bash or disregard. Rather, do like me: daven, learn… Read more »
This building was falling off the cliff & the rebbe instructed chabad of tzfas to buy it. And it stopped falling …..
Excuse me but anyone who is satisfied or uncaring is cruel. Children are there from crown heights. Telling Kids to not obey is wrong and unsafe. Someone care about Lubavitch for a change even if we don’t agree. We are all family.
BS”D You mean to say 1,2,4 &7 that the Bochurim do not learn Torah in the building all day but sleep late loaf around smoking cigarettes (sort of like pre Yechi in 749), etc. If that’s the case then maybe a bldg is not needed !!!???
How can we not feel empathy for them, regardless of any difference of opinion.
Especially, when they are so devoted to cause over pleasure, klal yisroel over their individual self.
It’s just like shaking a stolen lulav. If they choose to stay past the eviction deadline they should not claim that it’s the Rebbe’s yeshivah. The Rebbe is not ch”v a thief.
Dont be so sure. There is nothing fair or just about the Bagatz court.
Ahavas Yisroel, please.
That place should be condemned.
It’s worse than a church.
Send all the students to the army.
Let them run around the army base and help
Delay moshiach bro love maamesh.
Rabbi w should go with them of course.
Maybe he can force the army (with force of course)
To put a yellow flag on each tank.
Its a big problem in Israel with the leftist judges.
surely very soon they will have a very beautiful yeshiva and dorm building. I would be very happy to sponsor a campus for one of the flagship schools in Lubavitch?
CAN WE FORGET ABOUT POLITICS FOR A MINUTE? (SEEMS TO ME THAT BOTH SIDES ARE SO FANATIC IN THEIR THINKING THAT THEIR FEELINGS JUST CANCEL EACH OTHER OUT.) THE QUESTION HERE IS: WHO OWNS/OWNED THIS BUILDING? IF IT WAS INCONTROVERTIBLY DONATED TO THE YESHIVAH AND THE YESHIVAH WAS NOT PARTY TO ANYTHING RESEMBLING SALE OF THIS BUILDING, THEN HOW IN HEAVEN’S NAME DID IT GET “SOLD”? ON THE OTHER HAND, IF IT ACTUALLY BELONGED TO A PRIVATE PARTY WHO CHOSE TO SELL IT, THEN THE SCHOOL WILL HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT IT NEEDS TO FIND OTHER QUARTERS. THAT’S THE LONG… Read more »
WOW!! SUCH HATE!!! I don’t believe these comments are coming from Lubavitchers or people who have the interest of Lubavitch in mind. just very sad to see how 500 bochurim might be evicted and people talk like this. not matter what you think about them!!!
Chanuka miracle. Hopefully we will see the end of the yellow pin terrorist training camp
Or Charidy?
It seems like students interviewed? Where is the administration?
who cares .. coz we have no thugs in other yeshivas !
live and let live .. BOTH SIDES!
if our brothers in Israel are gojng thru a difficulty now it’s time to sympathize and not bring politics into this!
you can hate opinions, even actions but not people specially fellow chassidim. Honestly, I don’t agree with a lot of their opinions but I don’t see the hate by them like its displayed here.
I feel bad that the yeshiva that the Rebbe established now has nothing to do with what the Rebbe stood for
Agree with # 6, are these chassidim of the Rebbe or something new & different. I don’t know all the details but these responses lack positive, healthy concern.
You ask why we don’t feel bad that a yeshiva of the Rebbe will be demolished? What about what the talmidim of that yeshiva did to the Rebbe’s own shul? That did not bother you? Shualim holchim bo and you’re not troubled?
He who is compassionate when he should be cruel will come to be cruel when he should be compassionate.
If there is proof of ownership I am sure the court would have sided with them.
#2, oh please no.
The building should be demolished. Some rooms have no windows, it’s a dump. But yes, these fanatics have the place covered in flags & the bochurim there wear pins on their jackets, hats , yarmulkes & probably other pieces of clothing as well. It’s also the breeding ground for the thugs who terrorize other students when they come here on kvutza. Perhaps a nice new building will give them a sense of pride & order. Perhaps.
Instead of felling bad that a Yeshuva that the Rebbe established over 40 years ago! (in 5737) is facing such hardships….you start making fun of the Rebbe’s bigest Yeshiva i thought there was more Achdus within Chabad…
Yes I agree, i can’t believe that for the past 20 years the Yeshivah has been renting the dorm building, it just doesn’t make sense, if the dorm belongs to the Yeshivah how could it have been sold, who ownes the building, yes there are more details that have been omitted, could someone please explain the missing details
I think think itג€™s twenty years too late. Though I fully agree with comment number one.
It seems that there are some details missing. Who is the actual owner of the building and how did the ownership come into question?
Send them there
Or is this the yeshiva that generated the yellow flag movement? I hate to sound harsh but it’s very difficult to work up any compassion for their current plight.
