B”H Just to note: The Rebbe’s guidance to Professor Block A”H to go to college is unique. There were a few others. The Rebbe even paid for Baruch Nachshon’s art studies.

However, those are instances that The Rebbe took on his own shoulders. With regards the directive The Rebbe gave everyone see Chelek Tes-Vov (Volume 15) page 43 there The Rebbe writes that it is an Isur to go to College, as there are issues of opposite of Tznius, issues of Kfirah, etc.

Jonathan Sacks, a young Cambridge philosophy student, was initially influenced by Dr. Block to come to the Rebbe. That eventually led to his later becoming Lord Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks who, in turn, has influenced so many in Torah and Yiddishkeit. To think it all started with Dr. Block…
