This past Sunday, November 19th, Rosh Chodesh Kislev was graciously hosted by Mrs. Leah Dashevsky. It was a full house, with more than 45 ladies in attendance, in a lovely home environment. The beautiful evening fed both the body and soul. Delicious, gourmet food was served, the candles glowed, and the energy in the air warmed our hearts.
Mrs. Nurit Sarytchev, director of RJNC, inspired the ladies with a beautiful maimor. She also developed the idea of the importance of our celebration of Rosh Chodesh Kislev with extra simcha, as this year marks 40 years since Rebbe miraculously recovered from a heart attack and was able to reunite back with his Chassidim. The important idea that we can connect with is the love shown to the Rebbe by his Chassidim and what it was like to receive something back that which was missing. We love the Rebbe most importantly for the Rebbe’s ability to strongly connect us to our Father in Heaven.
As women who have the beautiful mitzvah to cover our hair with a shaitel, Mrs. Malky Eckhaus, one of the top shaitel machers in Crown Heights, was invited to show us how to take care and style our shaitels. Malky wowed her audience with her expertise and talent, as she showed practical and simple ways how we can shampoo and freshen up our shaitels with ease.
One of the other very exciting parts of the evening was Esther Freeman’s performance. A chassidishe farbrengen is not a farbrengen without niggunim. Esther Freeman, one of the accomplished female singers, who traveled the world, and who captivates her audience with her incredible energy and meaningful lyrics, came to take us on the journey of niggunim. Esther took us up above into the world of song which connected us with our soul. Besides the niggunim, Esther shared a few of her own original songs about connecting to Hashem and loving a fellow Jew.
This Rosh Chodesh Kislev farbrengen left the participants inspired, uplifted, with a rejuvenated body and soul, ready to start Kislev anew with joy and excitement.
This year, Russian Junior Nshei Chabad (RJNC), will be celebrating its 18th year Anniversary! It all began, 18 years ago, in the month of Shvat, when 4 ladies decided to get together in one’s living room to learn chassidus, while sipping a cup of tea. Since then, the farbrengens have grown immensely into a larger crowd of 35-40 ladies each Rosh Chodesh. The Annual Shvat Gala Dinner, draws almost 150 participants.
R.J.N.C is looking for the sponsors to share the zechus of spreading the light of Chassidus among the Russian-speaking ladies. To support R.J.N.C please go to their website:
