With the first session of cooking classes well under way, The Kale Maidel has opened registration for her second session.
The Kale Maidel’s kitchen was created with the belief that kids can love healthy foods.
“With proper education and awareness, kids learn the importance of taking care of themselves and are empowered to make healthy decisions. All in a fun, hands on setting, kids create the most delicious foods and treats that are good for them and taste even better,” says Tani Minkowitz, also known as the Kale Maidel.
Every week is something new and exciting with a total different experience and new skills learned, Minkowitz says.
During the past sessions, kids enjoyed making falafel from scratch, cinnamon date buns, zoodles, salsa and chips and more.
Tani says her favorite part is watching the kids taste what they make and seeing how much they actually like it!
“This completes my life,” was one of her favorite reactions from a student biting into a gluten free cookie.
“There is so much to learn about health, and starting at a young age really gives kids a head start in forming healthy habits. I see how kids go home from classes so excited to try out what they made and share the recipe with their family, it makes me so proud,” says Minkowitz.
Here’s what people are saying…
“Mushka loves going to your cooking classes because she’s been busy in the kitchen since she’s little and loves cooking and baking. Your classes really took cooking and baking to next level because she’s learning about new ingredients, nutrition facts and how you can make the food you’re making even healthier without sacrificing flavor! It also brings HER recipes into our home rather than mine or recipes from standard cookbooks which make her a proud contributor:)”

“ I just wanted to let you know that I have a few students who are in your after school cooking class and they love it! They share with everyone what they cooked and bring their leftovers for lunch! I’m so happy that there is such a forum for children to learn about healthy choices and the skill of cooking all presented in a fun manner!”

“Thanks so much! My daughter was so empowered! Very cool!”

This is a great addition to our community!
Good for Tani for introducing our future Jewish mothers to all the benefits of healthy food choices! Great for those in her class who bring the fun home to their own kitchens!
