The Vizhnitzer Rebbe, R’ Mendel Hager, was a guest at the Chabad Yeshiva in Toronto, Canada, and shared words of Torah with its bochurim on Thursday.
He was greeted by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Akiva Wagner, Mashpia Rabbi Yosef Leib Vechter and R’ Menachem Mendel Aharonov, from the elder chassidim in Toronto.
The Vizhnitzer Rebbe told the bochurim that “Chabad chassidim receive brochos from their own Rebbe” and proudly noted that his father, the previous Vizhnitzer Rebbe R’ Moshe Yehoshua Hager OBM, deeply admired the Rebbe.
He added that “Chabad has been worrying for every Jew wherever he may be found around the world” and emphasized the importance of investing in learning Torah.
Later on Thursday, students of the Chabad school in Toronto were visited by Rabbi Leibel Groner, the Rebbe’s Mazkir, who was visiting from Crown Heights and shared with the children stories and lessons.
A little background. R’ Mendel Hager is one of the two Vizhnitzer Rebbes of Bnei Brak. His older brother, Yisroel, has a far larger group of Chassidim. There are also Vizhnitz Rebbes of Monsey, Haifa, and Beit Shemesh that I know of.
