Miami Chabad Center Under Water

Watch: Miamis Shul of Downtown, directed Rabbi Chaim Lipskar, is already under water as Hurricane Irma only begins to bear down on Florida.

Miamis Shul of Downtown, directed Rabbi Chaim Lipskar, is already under water as Hurricane Irma only begins to bear down on Florida.

Rabbi Lipskar, his wife, their five children and about 30 other people, spent Shabbat at the Shul hosting a large Shabbat dinner even though it was under a mandatory evacuation order.

The synagogue is only two blocks from the water. But its a new, 20,000 square foot building made of steel and Jerusalem stone, Rabbi Lipskar said, equipped with impact windows and plenty of safe places.

We feel we shouldnt leave our community behind, he said. Were staying here, providing meals and services.

The streets surrounding the synagogue in the trendy Brickell neighborhood were like a ghost town on Friday afternoon. But Lipskar said he hosted dozens of people for dinner, including young professionals in the neighborhood who arent evacuating and others who arent able to get out of town.

It's interesting that you mention about rabbi Marlow because my father had the same thing happen to him, he also opened up igros and got a clear answer that there's nothing to worry about.

Location, location
To #2-6. Rabbi Marlow lives in North Miami Beach. This is Downtown Miami. When Hurricane Sandy hit New York and affected thiusands of homes in the Five Towns and lower Manhattan, it was only strong winds and heavy rain in Crown Heights. In both cases the distance between locations is 1/2 hour. Think before you comment negatively.
Kudos to Rabbis Chaim and Eli Lipskar

when this is all over,b'ezras Hashem...
please, please look out VERY carefully for downed electric lines, especially when stepping out of cars or buildings or into water puddles. stay away from open sewage and don't be "smarter" than those who issue warnings on still-dangerous situations.

Noahide Code
Now more than ever we need to promote the Noahide Code to prevent hurricaines in Florida. Regardless of whether or not it changed course or wasn't as bad as thought, Hashem is clearly angry. It's like a Father raising his hand to his children - and on Shabbos!!! Rabbi Riminov already warned us 2 years ago. If you choose to stay in Florida, please invest every effort into teaching Noahide laws and spreading Geulah.

Change the headline
Saw this article on Facebook yesterday and didn't get to read it until now. The whole time, I was worried that something happened to the Shul, ch"v. It would be good to make the headline clearer so that no one gets confused about whether the Rebbe's answers are being fulfilled.
