A Lubavitch humanitarian organization held a successful fundraiser in the Five Towns area of New York's Long Island last week.

150 businessmen, professionals and laymen showed up for Colel Chabad's 25th annual breakfast.

In the pleasant garden of Zane and Malkie Alpert in Woodmere, participants mingled over cocktails.

"I have been there, I've seen what's being done and can testify first-hand," Yossi Popack, a residential property owner in Crown Heights, told his friends.

Popack said he had attended the 1000 children Bar Mitzva at the Kotel and inaugurated a discount grocery store in Tzfas. "They [Colel Chabad] are cost-effective, work diligently and I'm satisfied with our friendship."

Colel Chabad Director Rabbi Sholom Duchman gave his guests an overview of the charity work in Israel and the Former Soviet Union.

A guest speaker was Alan Veingrad, a former NFL player who told of his journey to Chabad and observant Jewish life.
