A regional Kinus Hashluchim is taking place this week in the historical city of Girona, in northeastern Spain, with 48 Chabad Shluchim from 25 countries of Europe and Central Africa.
This Kinus is a first of its kind, enabling the shluchim from smaller countries to partake not only in the worldwide kinus which takes place annually in New York but also in a more local, regional one.
It was organized by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos Linyonei Chinuch.
Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar attended together with his friend, philanthropist Shimon Aminov, who renewed the Jewish community in Girona through the local Shliach, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Rozenberg.
The Kinus was opened by the Shliach in Barcelona, Rabbi Dovid Libersohn, with Carles Puigdemont, President of the Generalitat of Catalonia in attendance.
During the three days of the kinus, participants discussed the development of Jewish institutions, how to work with local governments, and especially how to expand the activities that are available for the thousands of Jewish citizens in these countries.
They visited the Ramban’s kever and davened in the central Chabad shul, which used to be the home of Rabbeinu Yona, as was explained to them by the local shliach, who also described Chabad’s activities with the many tourists who visit this historical city.
How unbelievable!!!!
So inspiring!!!!!
Rabbi Moshe Kotlasrsky and all the Holy Shluchim:
